Well after a long 3 year drought, FH is back atop D6-AA.

In 2006 many people thought FH would repeat with Rearick, Shope, D. Mehall, Carpenter and all the talent around them. Tough losses to BM & PC, and a playoff beatdown at the hands of Tyrone made this prediction untrue.

In 2007 FH loses talent across the board besides at RB. Team goes 4-6 and as Vman once said "There are problems in Sidman".. A lot of people called this the demise of Forest Hills, said Bailey has lost it, and claimed they may never get back to the top...

In 2008 FH looks to have a very good team and brings FH back from the dumps.. explosive yet balanced offense and a tough defense, but they get upset by Cinderella Central in the semis.

Now in 2009, The Rangers are 13-0 and District Champs! Congrat's Rangers for proving the haters(Vman) wrong!!!

Good game and congrats to both teams for making it as far as they did. Hard fought victory for both teams and came down to an exciting finish. A few questions though...........

This goes directly at Eagle Alum because he is the only Tyrone poster I know on this board. I have been watching high school football for many years and have grown a great respect towards Tyrone because they are always good. But tonight I think I witnessed one of the poorest Tyrone teams I have seen in years. I know they are really young and probably a year or two away, but I expected a better showing from them. Where was their offense? I am used to seeing a well oiled machine Franko puts out their every year.Actually to put it frankly, even as an FH fan, neither team showed that they should have been in the championship. Both teams made mistakes that bad teams make and that should have been taken care of in the preseason.

Please tell me why an FH punt returner would field a rolling punt off the ground with his back turned to the opposition???!?!?!? Let alone getting hit and fumbling the ball like he did, it is a really good way to get hurt and cause serious injury. Word of advice to the young man to never do that again.

If FH plays like the way they did tonight I do not see a bright future. Hopefully it is not another South Park repeat.

You may not know, Franco has only started a soph qb 3 times in his coaching career. once at Altoona(Steve Taneyhill). And twice at Tyrone, and both of those occassions(94-98), they didn't make it near as far as they did this year(5-5 in '94 and 9-2 in '98).They did however win Franco 5 of his 7 dis. titles and land him in the state game twice. Plus I think calling them the poorest Tyrone team you've saw detracts from what FH accomplished last night. The rangers held a Franco offense to -1 yd in the 1st half.impressive! Good luck next week Rangers, beat Wilmington.

Being gracious in defeat- what a noble concept! I'm sure all the Ranger nation accept the praise from their opponents and humbly will try their best next week against Wilmington @ IUP Friday night. That was not one of the better games from either side of the ball. I predicted 19-17 based on the fact I expected FH to score 3 TD's and miss 2 extra points, and for the Eagles kicker to nail a FG. The results were almost switched, with the Tyrone kicker actually missing the extra pt. that would have put them up 15-14 at the time. After eating 9 1/2 minutes of the 1st pd. clock, FH kicker missed a chip shot FG. He later missed an extra pt., but nailed the winner when it was really needed. I honestly expected an OT game. When was the last time a Tyrone team had an opposing RB rack up well over 200 yards against them? This Tyrone team may not have had the calibre of talent top to bottom that some in the past had, but they hung with the Rangers and on this night gave them all they wanted. After the muffed punt, I thought FH was being visited once again by the ghosts of past defeats at Mansion. Congrats to the Eagles for a hard fought game, and as some have suggested, look out for this team for the next 2 years.

Congratulations Forest Hills. What an accomplishment for this senior class and for Coach Bailey. These seniors were 4-6 as sophomores in 2007 when Coach Bailey went back to the drawing board to turn things around, and this senior class committed itself to playing Ranger Football. That 2007 season seems like distant memory now.

I will agree that Forest Hills could have played better last night, but it was a district title game against TYRONE at MANSION. You can throw out records; BOTH teams laid it all on the line all night long in a great football game. Tyrone had a great season, but I was really happy to see Coach Bailey finally get that win over Franco at Mansion.

That is eight District 6 titles now for Coach Bailey and the Rangers. Looks like those banners will need stitched once again!

Good for Don. It wasn't so long ago that he had a couple bad seasons and the FH fans were all over him. He stuck to his guns and got back to power football. He does things the right way and deserves all the accolades. Go Rangers!
