BC should all be banded together tonight.

Post by The Ancient Enemy »

And Paterno hated the "Barry Switzer's of the world"?

Stuff like what just happened w/ Kiffin and Tennessee would never happen with Wanny, Joe, Tressel, or Mack Brown at the helm. We should all be glad we have coaches who legitimately care about the kids and do not bolt less than 12 hours before the early enrollees start classes. Tennessee has 10 kids enrolled early right now. If those kids step foot in the classroom tomorrow, they lose a year of eligibility if they want to transfer. The classless pieces of **** that were on that UT staff called those players and told them not to go to class and to come to USC. Ed Orgeron should be ashamed of himself. Lane Kiffin is the biggest piece of **** I have seen in college football in all the years I have followed it. They have already committed a violation by telling those kids not to go to class and to "transfer".

What in the HELL was USC thinking? The NCAA is going to have to open up a violations office on the USC campus. How do you hire a guy with a history, in one year, of numerous infractions when you are in the midst of a tremendous NCAA investigation? What a disaster. And I can tell you that the Tennessee fans are some of the classiest, nicest fans I have ever encountered. I can't believe they did this to those kids. What a bunch of &^*%#&&*%.

We should all on this site be thankful that we have coaching staffs that DO genuinely care about the kids and the HC's ARE really good human beings. Unreal.

I completely agree 100%. When I saw this news, I was in shock at first. Then, I realized we were talking about Lane Kiffin. He truly is trash. I hope the NCAA tears up the Bush and McKnight scandals and he loses a decent amount of scholarships. That's just what he deserves.

Wow, all hell has broken loose at both UT's tonight. Kiffin left for USC. Word was that Muschamp had taken the head coaching job at the other UT. Now they say that's not true. It's getting crazy. If Muschamp leaves the University of Texas for a Head Coaching job at Tennessee, he's not near as smart as I once thought. I just can't imagine there's any truth to it. If you can have one of the top 3 coaching jobs in the Nation in a few years, why would you take a job where you know that success is going to be almost impossible to come by? I'm not buying it, but it has the Longhorn nation in a frenzy.

There's nothing at all on the Tennessee boards about Muschamp accepting and not much discussion about him being offered. They're in meltdown, but there's a lot of fans from other rival programs telling them they are way better off without Kiffin. This should still be a recruiting dead-period so Orgeron calling those kids should be a violation.

Tennessee's first option was Muschamp. Just got all the details today. He did not accept their offer. Word got out of the bag, though, that he would leave Texas for Georgia or Florida. That's scary because that Georgia job could be opening as soon as the end of next year.

I wouldn't get discouraged. You can't fault the guy for wanting to coach back home. If he goes to A&M, then yes.

I can understand it. However, if you were going to be able to coach at Texas in two years or Georgia next year, which school would you pick?

If his family is in Georgia, I think even a dismal Georgia would take precedence over UT. I can say for myself that I do not get really homesick for the area per se, but I miss seeing my family. Muschamp is what, 40? His parents are aging. I can definitely sympathize with any coach who is far from his family wanting to be at least closer. Besides... UT is maybe the best gig in college football. Theres no shortage of candidates. And Muschamp is NOT a proven head coach; there is no guarantee he can even win 5 games a season. I can assure you that the UT AD is the best in the business.

Deloss is the man. I'm not sure about Muschamp as a HC, but I hate to lose him as DC for the next few years. He's done wonders with that defense the last two years.
