ICC Week 4 Preview
ICC Week 4 Preview
5-1 last week... 15-3 overall
This is not the best week in the ICC in terms of matchups. Short write-ups on the way.
Bellwood @ West Branch
West Branch is 0-3. Bellwood is Bellwood.
Bellwood 34
West Branch 0
Juniata Valley @ Claysburg
Juniata Valley is rolling. Claysburg isn't.
JV 37
Claysburg 6
Mo Valley @ Glendale
Mo Valley is young and Glendale is led by a whole bunch of lettermen. This is a rivalry game and the teams know each other well, so it might stay a little closer than many expect.
Glendale 34
Mo Valley 20
Northern Bedford @ Williamsburg
3-0 vs 0-3.
NBC 40
Williamsburg 0
Southern Huntingdon @ Mount Union
This should be the game of the week, but Mount Union got drilled by Tussey. Southern is 2-1 being outscored 37-46 on the year. If they win and get to 3-1 while still being outscored... I'll take just that too.
Southern Huntingdon 20
Mount Union 14
Game of the Week: Everett @ Tussey Mountain
How is an 0-3 team in the game of the week? They just played Glendale, Bellwood, and NBC... a combined 7-2 (and Bellwood's loss was to AA power Tyrone..Glendale's loss was to NB so someone had to lose). Everett has a team capable of winning 5 of their last 6 if they haven't folded. Their line is big, but they are lacking skill guys. Can they run right at Tussey? Tussey is playing well right now after demolishing Claysburg and Mount Union. Most people didn't expect this from the Titans. Can they win here to move to 3-1? If they get this one, I expect them to beat Mo Valley as well to put them at 4-1 heading into their game vs. NBC. If they lose this one, I think they'll lose to Mo Valley. This game is a turning point for them. A win I believe will give them a 5 or 6 win season. A loss will probably have them end with 4 and still in the playoffs. Everett has to have this game. They have 6 winnable games left on their schedule with the way everyone is playing right now. Can Everett's power match up with Tussey's speed? I honestly don't know and may flip flop my pick later in the week. For now-

Re: ICC Week 4 Preview
Bellwood 28 WB 7- Bellwood isn't Bellwood this year; WB is 0-3,but is playing better D than the record indicates. No offense though.
JV 35 C-K 6- Morrison has Hornets fans forgetting about Wagner & Co. C-K is hurting.
Glendale 42 MV 7- Glendale is TYLER JENNY. MV is rebuilding and too young in the secondary to stop TJ. No running game will hurt Glendale down the road.
NBC 35 Williamsburg 0- Enough said.
SH 28 MU 6 (love how House and McDonald are classified as "inactive"; what is that?) Questions about McDonald's eligibility maybe? Transfer from Georgia just in time time to save MU's running game! Don't worry, though, he can just go to McCort or the other 2 Bishops and no questions will be asked.
Tussey MT 36 Everett 12- Everett has size, but little else. TM is playing with confidence.

Re: ICC Week 4 Preview
Definitely not many good games on tap this week in the ICC, but there are a few teams that could really help out their playoff chances with wins in trap games.
Bellwood at West Branch
I expected a little more from West Branch last week against Glendale but that wasn't the case. I don't think the Warriors defense is all that bad, but they have had a lot of trouble finding weapons on offense. This is definitely still a bottom tier program in the ICC, but I believe they have moved ahead of the Williamsburgs and Claysburgs of the world. Travis Taylor has emerged as the Bellwood's main running threat and they have a boat load of other guys who can run. Evans should continue to put up nice stats and control the game. Although they have been very dominant the past two weeks, I'm still not sold on these Blue Devils. I'm looking forward to their week 7 and 8 games with Glendale and Juniata Valley.
Bellwood 44 West Branch 6
Juniata Valley at Claysburg
The Hornets continue to be very impressive and are starting to show that they could be a dangerous team to meet up with in the playoffs. JV should roll this week and next week against Mount Union, setting up a showdown with Glendale. Claysburg just doesn't have the numbers or line play to be competitive this year.
Juniata Valley 36 Claysburg 12
Mo Valley at Glendale
The Knights are coming of a disappointing performance at Juniata Valley while Glendale got back to its winning ways at West Branch. Mo Valley should continue to improve over the coarse of the season and have some winnable games at the back end of their schedule. Mo Valley could keep it close for a half as they ride the emotions of this rivalry game, but Glendale will be able to pour it on in the second half.
Glendale 34 Mo Valley 13
Northern Bedford at Williamsburg
Not much to say about this one. Will be the second of 3 consecutive shut outs for the Panther's defense.
Northern Bedford 42 Williamsburg 0
Southern Huntingdon at Mount Union
As rainmaker stated, Southern has a chance to be a stunning 3-1 despite not playing their best football. Nothing is going to be easy the rest of the way for the Rockets, but I would give them a chance to finish with 5 or 6 wins. Mount Union on the other hand has been a bit of a disappointment in my mind. They are a AA school who has had solid junior high teams the past few years and they get taken behind the wood shed by a small A school like Tussey Mountain? Southern Huntingdon has a lot more on the line in this one and MU is pretty banged up, give me the Rockets on the road.
Southern Huntingdon 20 Mount Union 16
Game of the Week
Everett at Tussey Mountain
This is one of those trap games, where the Titans better come out ready to play, because this Everett club will be hungry for a win. Everett has been outscored 110-6 against arguably the top 3 teams in the ICC. The Warriors were really exposed during the past 3 weeks. They have shown us absolutely nothing offensively and the they may have the worst pass defense in the conference. Lucky for the Warriors the schedule sets up nicely and they have a legitimate chance to win out. They do have a nice line and solid run defense which could win them some ball games against the weaker teams. Tussey Mountain and Josh Smith are riding high right now as the Titans are playing some of their best football right now. The offense is doing it on the ground and through the air, while the defense has shown improvement after giving up 34 to Juniata Valley. Everett was able to key in on Northern Bedford's rushing attack last week and were successful in shutting it down. However Tussey doesn't have just one runner they rely on. Coy, Sheeder, Starr, and QB Foore are all threats to run, and Foore is one of the most efficient QB's in the conference. I think Tussey will continue confidence on their way to a 4-1 vs 5-0 backyard brawl with NBC in week 6.
