Tyrone @ Central
Tyrone @ Central
This game has been a huge game each of the past two years. Last year in the playoffs it was an awesome atmosphere. Many of the Tyrone faithful showed up before noon to get in line for a seat. It was unreal. Both games were excellent games as well. The best high school hit I've seen in some time came in that playoff game by the way. It shows it on the Sportsbeat commercial...Runk punts, it almost gets returned and he picks up the guy meeting him head on and basically gives him a power bomb. It is awesome. Anyone have film of that?
Anyway, this game is HUGE for Central. They aren't as bad as their 1-3 record, but they are likely to come out of this game 1-4 which is unreal. If they win, maybe they get back in hunt for D6. If they lose, they might not even make playoffs or could be 1 and done (I wouldn't want them in the first round in a 1 vs 8 type of game). I think I heard the Dragons are battling some injuries....
Any thoughts on this one BleacherCoaches?

I'm bringing the WHVL TV crew back again to the Central vs Tyrone match-up on Friday night. We covered the regular season game last year and the attendance was amazing. I always knew that the Tyrone fans traveled well! The Central admin had to lock the gates the night before to keep the Tyrone fans from taking all the seats!
WHVL will be recording the entire game and then televising all of the action the following Wednesday night at 6PM. The more people that check us out and give feedback on our website (http://www.whvl.com) or email me directly at [email protected] will help in my fight to keep this type of coverage going each year. I believe that the fans of central PA want to see more that just highlights of our local athletes! Please show your support of this type of local programming. I live, work and raise my family in this area and want to bring television back to what it should be.........for the community! Producing and fighting for the "WHVL Game of the Week" coverage for the last two years has been an uphill battle but I am willing to keep working on it if the public wants to see our local athletes.

Re: Tyrone @ Central
Couple thoughts, 1st , Runks' tackle of Emeigh on the punt return comes to my mind a bit differently; He got an angle and used the sideline and stood Emeigh up, whistles blew, he then lifted and "power bombed" a 125# backup reciever....great tackle! Probably why the visitors side of the gym was nearly filled to capacity with students when Central came for a b-ball game about a month later, they were on Runk from the time he came out in warmups, 'til he got tossed in the 3rd quarter....most entertaining basketball game I saw in a while......As for the seating, Central probably locked the gates the night before because they knew what was coming. The Wednesday before our AD offered to split the cost of portable bleachers to accomodate everyone, they refused; as a result I witnessed about 50 to 75 of our more elderly fans who rode one of the fan buses stand the entire game along the fence. I think it will be closer than some think, but I hope it's a whitewash of epic proportions.

What are runk's stats on the year?
Maybe he should have transferred into one of the private schools.

Re: Tyrone @ Central
I'm taking central in the upset of the week. Expect their defense to step up and shut down patton and franco. Dragons 21-14
Re: Tyrone @ Central
Here is how it works.
Runk decides to go to BG. Then another one or two players come in as well. On a single A team, that makes a big difference. Look at the difference Kephart has make for BC. Add Chad Shilling, Nate Crookshank and the Bych twins to Blacklick and that is a potent team.
Regardless, Runk is a great player to watch play. I enjoyed this game last year and expect it to be a battle for at least a half. The worst thing is that a game like this would be great on a Thursday night at Mansion Park, but now will be jammed into a high school field thatcan not handle the amount of people that will attend.

Re: Tyrone @ Central
kephart is the sole reason why BC is good this year?
Not buying that, Kephart is the 3rd leading rusher and 4th leading tackler. Not like he's come in as a Pro Bowl player.
BG sucks, Central is better. He made the right decision staying put.
