Week 4 in the NFL...

Post by deliverance »

Locks to win:

Jets @ Bills - I don't see this came staying very close. Buffalo put up a lot of points last week against New England, but who doesn't score a lot against them? The Jets defense is too good and they're offense is actually playing well right now. The Jets cover the -6 spread. Jets 27-10

Panthers @ Saints - The Panthers are down right awful right now. They have absolutely no offensive identity. They can't even run this year. The Saints are going to come out mad after losing last week. I think the Saints cover the -13.5 spread pretty easily. Saints 31-7

Texans @ Raiders - The Texans are coming off a rough loss to Dallas where they played horribly. However, the Raiders are still the Raiders. They are improved this year, but not that improved. For the life of me, I can't figure out why this spread is -3. Texans 34-20

Bengals @ Browns - The Bengals need Carson Palmer to get back on track. If he can get it going, the Bengals will win a lot of games. The Browns hung in with the Ravens last week, which surprised me. However, I don't think the same happens this week. Palmer hooks up with both Ochocinco and T.O. for touchdowns this week. Bet the Bengals at -3. Bengals 24-14

Toss Ups:

Ravens @ Steelers - This game should be a great one. Two of the best defenses in football. Two teams that hate each other. The Steelers have looked like the best team in the NFL to this point. The major question is whether Batch can keep from turning the ball over against a top defense. I'm not so sure he can. This one stays really close and is probably won by a late score by either team. Take the Ravens and the +2.5 due to Batch starting. Ravens 21-20

Redskins @ Eagles - This is the most highly anticipated match-up of the weekend. McNabb returns to Philly for the first time after they traded him. Will they boo or cheer him? They booed Santa Claus, so who knows? Will Michael Vick keep showing up like he has so far this season? I'm not sure he can keep taking the beating he has in the first few games for a whole season. However, I see his team on the winning side of things in a close one on Sunday. I'm not sure they cover the spread of -5.5, though. Take the Redskins and the points, but the Eagles win straight up. Eagles 21-17

Bears @ Giants - The Giants have started the season off terribly. They are in desperate need of a win this week. Can they get it against the 3-0 Bears? The Bears have been pretty surprising this year. Their defense is pretty stout and Cutler isn't throwing 3 interceptions in every game anymore. The Bears are getting +3.5. I think the Bears win the game. Eli will cost the Giants the game with a costly turnover. Bears 27-24
