Top 25 after Week 7...

Post by deliverance »

1. Oregon - They're averaging over 51 points a game. Enough said.
2. Boise State - They've scored over 33 points in every game this season and their defense is pretty sold, too. It's a shame they don't play in a conference, so we could see if they're as good as they look.
3. Auburn - This may be a little high for Auburn, but no team has impressed me more other than Oregon and Boise State. Chizik has his boys rolling. Huge test this week.
4. Oklahoma - Oklahoma will be tested this week. I'm still not sure they can even win the Big 12. It'll be interesting.
5. TCU - I think TCU will stay ranked about fifth all year. They're not even having impressive wins against horrible teams. They should still go undefeated with that schedule.
6. LSU - Auburn vs. LSU this week. Enough said.
7. Michigan State - Who would have thought they'd be the highest ranked Big 10 at this point in the season? I'm still waiting for the yearly fold that they have at the end of the year. Could this be the year they put a whole season together?
8. Alabama - Losing Julio Jones really hurts Alabama. They should still roll against Tennessee this week. Big test coming up in a few weeks at LSU.
9. Utah - Utah has a chance to make their push in the standings when they face TCU and Notre Dame later in the season. Even if they win those two, I don't think it'll be enough to put them in the National Championship discussion.
10. Missouri - Missouri gets their chance this week to prove themselves. Are they just a pretender or an actual contender?

The rest...
11. Wisconsin
12. Oklahoma State
13. Stanford
14. Nebraska
15. Ohio State
16. Florida State
17. Iowa
18. Arizona
19. Texas
20. West Virginia
21. Arkansas
22. Miami
23. South Carolina
24. Virginia Tech
25. Mississippi State

I just don't know about that Utah team. They haven't played anyone. There front 5 on o and front 7 on d are solid, but again show me a quality win. beating Notre Dame won't prove much to me, a win against TCU yes. I could see Air Force knocking them off. I think that goofy flew bone, trip option game will give them a good deal of trouble. This past loss to the Aztecs ruined their chances, but if they knock off the Utes I would like to see them ranked, but they have to deal with the toads first.

Utah is a team that still needs to prove themself. They beat Pitt in week one, but that win isn't exactly what most people thought it'd be at the beginning of the season. The game against TCU is huge. Honestly, I think they win that game. However, it doesn't make them any better than a top 5 team in the nation. A BCS game is on the line in that one, but I don't see either one getting close to the National Championship.

South Carolina is a lot like Penn State. They both have an abundance of talent, a great head coach, and they should never lose a game. Thee is so much talent in the Carolinas it is ridiculous. So much inconsistency on the field!

I dont really look at the actual top 25, so I have no comparison to draw from, in that sense.

I would say that everyone below your #6 can all beat eachother. They're all equal. I still dont have much faith in Michigan State.

No UCLA this week?
