ahhh the 2nd coaching change in a 6 year period. What a stable program we have.

The names that are beginning to surface....

2. Al Golden
3. Tommy Bradley
4. Mark Stoops
5. Frank Cignetti
6. Terryl Austin
7. Bud Foster.
8. Marvin Lewis
9. Sal Sunseri

My first choise is Holgerson, He is the anti-Stache. He has powerful offense, young, and innovative and will have no trouble recruiting. He may leave, but you can't worry about that, you take the best candidate.

2nd choice is Tommy Bradley. 1. He's never going to get the State Penn job. 2. He can recruit. 3. He's a good coach. Dad went to Pitt to play bball, McCort grad, Brother top Doc for the Stillers. He is better then Wanny. I'm not thrilled with hiring a Western Pa. guy, but if anyone, I'd take TB.

3rd choice. Bud Foster. Hard nosed Defensive coach, been around a very successful program for years. he can bring in the talent from the mid-South, and will build a very strong defense. Nothing wrong with that.

I Wouldn't touch Sunseri,Lewis, and Cignetti with a 10 foot pole. Forget being "Pitt guys" they would be Wanny all over again, and wouldn't be serious candidates if their diplomas didn't say University of Pittsburgh.


I'm real iffy on Golden. he got Temple to win, IN THE MAC. Big whoop, he's a good coach but Penn State is gonna come calling when the clock strikes midnight for JoePa. I don't want him.

Stoops the FSU coordinator is a good choice, good coaching bloodlines, I'd say.
Austin is the only "Pitt guy" I'd look at. Because he is a coach at a very very good program in Florida. he's young and probably wouldn't attack games like they are 1994 NFL games.

9 points, just like ABPK said. Fact is they won. The Big lEast champ lost to Temple, plain and simple. So don't make them seem like they're not at least a program on the rise due to Golden. Imagine if he goes to a place that would be considered at least somewhat of a "football school"

Why didn't Temple get a bowl bid if they are so good?

Because it's not about the record but about how many fans you can bring and how much money you can make for the bowl. Penn State vs. Flordia on a New Years Day bowl, they are both 7-5.

It's not abut the record??? The are 35 bowl games this year. That's 70 teams in bowl games. So Temple wasn't one of the top 70 teams in the nation with a .500 record or better? And PSU only beat them by 9 at home?

Because the only ppl who want to see MAC teams are the dip****s who have season tickets to Penn State. Give us your Akrons, your Bowling Greens, and your Kent States. That should be the new football motto. We can engrave it on the paterno statue the opponents see when entering our megalith to mediocrity.
