Richland Coaching Situation
They had a board meeting tonight, and I was just told that they are keeping Bailey as head coach but he is being moved from principal to head of education.

Is head of education a newly created position just to calm the rabble rousers?
It ain't over until it's over.

Re: Richland Coaching Situation
Good for Bailey, actually beat the board and got a promotion in return. I agree this was a bad situation and a no win situation for alot of people. We are all human and I cant see the two parties involved in this ever being civil again. I think this situation exploded and got much bigger than expected, so the board retreated hard. Props to Brandon for sticking to his guns and fighting in out. In a way I thought, this would push him over to the Hills where this craziness doesnt seem to happen. Hopefully no malice will be shown towards the kids involved per say.
Re: Richland Coaching Situation
About every other LH team should be happy. Just watch out I look for Richland to win another playoff game the next 9 seasons and beat 5 or 6 winning teams.
Interesting to see how team and program come together after this(or fall apart)

Well, pats, it looks like you need more guidance as usual, so here goes:
Its a heck of a lot easier to get to 8-9 wins when you already have 6, than to get there from 0, which is where Richland was and would be if Bailey left.

Quotes from Tony Rizzo, who isn't happy, in the Tribune Democrat today about Bailey staying on as coach and getting new position that will not involve him dealing with student situations:
" This is just a patch on the wound"
" It is a political move"
" It is not going to change anything "
A political move? What exactly do you call what you were trying to do Rizzo? I applaud the Board's decision, even if it was just to save face, and hope they learned a lesson. The community that all of you where elected to represent will not stand by and allow you to try and quietly slip things by because a very small minority is in your ear trying to manipulate policy for personal gain. This situation made me very angry and did nothing but divide the community and the students. I do not have any children but I do live in the district and vote in every election. I am going to try and find out which board members stared this who thing because I think it should be brought to light in the next election.
