One seeds??
at 112 Roberts who is 25-1 is ranked 1st over Link who is 36-1? Also Makara who is 35-3 is a 1st seed over Claar who is 39-1? What is the reason for this? Link and Claar should be the one seed  .

Re: One seeds??
It's based one points unless there is a head to head match to go off of. In the Link/Roberts case their match this year was a preseason tourney which wouldn't count.

Re: One seeds??
Anybody have access to the points list? Per the press release:
"The district champions will be seeded on a point system based on last year’s placement in the state tournament, the regular season record, and competition points. Final decisions on seeding will be made by the
tournament director in consultation with the district coordinators."
189 - #2 seed Sollenberger vs. Kitta, A) neither qualified for the state tournament last year, B) 26-4 Sollenberger vs. 31-3 Kitta, C) Competition points - this is vague, but as I've mentioned Sollenberger has 2 losses to D7#2 Phillips, who has 2 losses to Kitta. Plus Kitta won a tournament in which Sollenberger finished 5th in. I just don't understand the seeding here.

Re: One seeds??
Competition points are not vague...very simply, who did you wrestle this year that placed last year in districts, regionals, or states....more points for the higher finishes...more points for beating those guys, but still some points for losing to those guys....defined schedule of points...

Re: One seeds??
103-
I also heard that Dupas had the most points @ 103 and Nolf the least amount. From what i understand due to Easter's major over Dupas he was given 1st seed. However D-7 got mad and had it changed somehow.
obviously Nolf is the favorite to win. But, he is a freshman. How does a kid like that get preference?

Re: One seeds??
Once the 1,2,3 seeds (district champs) are figured out, there are preset brackets for the rest of the seeds.odoyelrules wrote: 189 - #2 seed Sollenberger vs. Re: One seeds??
longball i understand the concept of competition points, but I haven't seen what the specific values are. D5 & D6 have different definitions for their own tournaments and D7 probably does as well. Nor have I seen the formula blending them with regular season record and prior state placement.
fwiw with D Soll I see 2 wins over Deffibaugh + the win over Baer (who made it to states) as the only prior regional qualifiers that he faced this year. Perhaps that is worth more then what Kitta has & apparently its also enough to overcome the regular season record difference.
103 - if this is correct then apparently competition points mean much more then regular season record. As 37-0 for Nolf vs. 25-4 for Dupas. Apparently the committee considers head to head results (as it should, imo), perhaps even placement at the regional tournament as well with Dupas (& D Sollen) placing 6th last year.
CR Wizard - my comments were about determining seeds 1/2/3.
