That football program has been through all kinds of turmoil lately, eh?

Kirk! I had a gut feeling you would be the one reporting this.

While we're on the subject of athletes in trouble, what was the real story behind Taran Buie's suspension from PSU's basketball team? We never did hear what happened.

If I was a PSU fan, I'd hibernate during basketball season too.

I think you're missing the point. Pitt fans have always wanted to finish ahead of Penn State in Football. Looks like they have. They're #1!!!!!

I just think the funniest part of the story is for probably the past 5 years Titan has posted his penn state police blodder on here probably 500 times and acted like Pitt did no wrong.

Like I've always said, these things bother me very little. I watch football. It doesn't matter to me if Penn State graduates 100% or 15%. It doesn't matter to me if 100 pitt kids get arrested or 2. It doesn't affect me one way or the other. I don't know the kids on either team and chances are if you did you might think they are punks, but it's not going to keep me from watching games.

That's about 4 or 5 times now (including the title of this topic) that you mentioned Pitt is #1. Nice try, but over the years PSU still leads Pitt in all time rankings in this department.

Based on what information? It was obvious that Penn State has/had their problems and it was well reported upon at the time. Were other schools looked into as well? I don't know, but what I do know is that this report looked at the preseason top 25 on an equal scale and Pitt came out as number 1. That's a pretty dark mark to wash off so easily and to quickly turn back to the past of "over the years PSU is worse." Based on what equal reporting?

I think this report is finally a great example that ALL schools (minus BYU) bend the rules a little bit for their athletes and it is a shame. Most people are bashing BYU for upholding an honor code that every athlete knows exists and willingly signs. If every other university was like this in the country then the world would surely be a better place because rules actually mean something and are equally applied to everyone.
