It's a start in the right direction, but I don't think it will help until we go back to 12 or even down to 10 weights.

I think it will cause even MORE weight cutting, especially at the lower weights....you will have them trying to reach even harder for that 106 class (with the allowance). Makes it near impossible to compete if your kid is barely 100 pounds (or less).
