More Pitt / PSU rivalry retardation.
Could Penn State seriously be any more of elitists than they are right now?
The new Pitt head coach just said he wants to play PSU pronto. You know what I would do if I was hired at Pitt? The exact same thing. I would go full-bore at Penn State, painting them as cowards, petty, unfounded elitists, etc, etc.
Penn State has one of the slowest defenses in college football. Pitt would obliterate them w/ that new offense. Trust me, it is in PSU's best interest to steer clear.
The York Dispatch today has an article saying that PSU should not play Pitt, fueling more elitist insanity. Unbelievable.
Meanwhile, 2 schools 3 hrs apart will never play eachother again.
One clown in the Lion's Den today said he hopes they renew the rivalry and play a basketball series. He was serious. I told him I'd take Pitt 90-25.

Funny how the Pitt bloggers know there is absolutely no chance the game will ever be played again

Looks like 12-0 will live in infamy.

Re: More Pitt / PSU rivalry retardation.
Just as Paterno is responsible for not renewing the Pitt/PSU football rivalry, Ed DeChellis, after the last Pitt/PSU basketball game in 2006, decided NOT to renew the rivalry on the basketball court. Ed decided that he wanted to give "more teams a chance to play Penn State". Bring on Stoneybrook.

I can kind of understand the basketball thing. Pitt is head and shoulders above Penn State in basketball and in all honesty rarely would the game be close. Both the programs in football, on the other hand, are competitive enough for a great rivalry.

Re: More Pitt / PSU rivalry retardation.
I hate what Paterno has done to the rivalry. I also hate that most Penn State fans act like "Pitt who" and "we have better people to play than pitt" The most pathetic thing is that the elitist attitude seems to have gotten worse the more the program has fallen.
I do disagree with the original sentiment on Penn State's being the slowest in college football and Pitt obliterating them with the new offense. We have never seen what Pitt's offense will be like with their new coach and what kind of a fit it will be and I also don't think Penn State's offense is that slow especially with Fortt and Hodges at linebacker this year. (however, if you are saying that as it being what Pitt's coach should say to call out Penn State I think he would be wise in doing so)

I'm not sure that Eddie Dee wants to play Stony Brook because the last time they played, PSU LOST TO STONY BROOK AT HOME.
Get Stony Brook off the schedule and play someone else like Kennesaw State.
