Massive District 5 preview

Post by Eric Knopsnyder »

After the positive response I got from the District 6 preview, I felt like I had to do one for this week's District 5 tournament.
Unfortunately, they're very time-consuming, so it took me until tonight to get it done.
I look at each weight class, going over key results from this season and then making predictions of the top four.
You can see it at http://knopsnyder.blogspot.com/2012/02/ ... w-and.html.

Thank you eric. I like reading your predictions and getting the inside scope. I'll add your predictions in the competition with everyone else.

Wow really going out on a limb with the NB championship pick! They very well may have 7 finalists, but that might not be enough because the rest of the team might not win a match. If they did happen to push 7 into the finals, they still better get a win from Shipley, Brunner, or somebody.

Great job Eric. Just want you to know your hard work and dedication to the sport does not go unnoticed. You do an amazing job. Now, not that agree with all your picks.....but, that's why we make our own picks and assumptions and let these boys wrestle. Are u doing a live chat today? If so, what time does it start?

Thanks guys. ... I'm not sure I agree with all of my picks either! I didn't really intend to pick NB to win the team title. I went into it figuring I'd go with Ridge, but when I looked at the placewinners I thought the Panthers would have the most points.
Probably not the smartest move on my part. I picked two upsets and both happened to be NB kids. If Replogle loses to Crouse and Grace is beaten by Baer - both of which are expected - then NB might not finish in top four and I look like a fool.
By the way - for all of my years in wrestling, I'm still not great with the team points in tournaments. Unfortunately, the teams I was on rarely had to worry about such things.
Oh well, as I said, the picks are just for fun, and it's always more fun when you take a couple of chances instead of picking all of the favorites.
Just try not to taunt me too much if I go down in flames! :)

Yah, great job eric! I like your replogle pick being he was up in weight and worked back down to the little guys. He could win it. Those 3 guys are all able to take it especially how easter wrestled aggressive in the d-5 team matches. I am not sold on your other pick!
