WJAC
I was wondering if anyone else was disappointed in the WJAC coverage of bothe AA and AAA Regionals? One 2 second clip of LOCAL 2 time state champ Rizzo in two days of coverage? I was unable to attend the AAA finals which had two Hilltoppers, Burnheimer and Duplin and a Trojan, Harris. The clips they showed were a kid from Dubois and TJ Brandt from Altoona. I know that my Hilltoppers are in the upper weights and may not have wanted to wait around but Harris is a 132lber The "Johnstown" station could at least have showed the Greater Johnstown HS kid IMO.
Hope they do a better job at Hershey!!

Re: WJAC
They won't. WJAC and WTAJ never really have done very well when it comes to wrestling. I guess just be thankful that they were even there and mentioned that it was going on.....

Re: WJAC
And the sad part is... I dont know the exact numbers but I bet more or at least the same number of kids come out of our area and go onto NCAA wrestling careers as they do football, basketball etc. Westmont has six scholarship D1 wrestlers right now...thats ONE school in our area...I'm not saying not to cover the other sports, but I'm saying they should cover them EQUALLY. and they should cover the JOHNSTOWN kids... Altoona has its own station...If I wanted to see TJ Brandts clips, i'd have watched the Altoona station...
Re: WJAC
I wanted to see what the WJAC 11 pm sports had to say about the upcoming playoffs if anything Sunday night. Nothing. But, hey they did have a brief clip about women's college LACROSSE. GIVE US A FRICKIN' BREAK! And then the obligatory "check our website" etc. Why bother tuning in, at all, EVER?

Re: WJAC
the local newspapers seem to be doing a great job as of late with wrestling coverage. ryan spring at the gazette, eric knopsnyder of the tribune-democrat, and todd irwin of the mirror are doing great things for wrestling in this area. also, sam shuss and john topper from 100.9 don't get enough recognition for all that they do for the sport. we are blessed to have these guys.....

Football wise I think WJAC is better than WTAJ for sure these last two years.... I know it's a different sport...

Re: WJAC
I'm giving props to WJAC for once. Might be the only time. Wed. 6 PM sports had a brief item about Rizzo, and Roberts, mainly because they both are 2 time state winners. Guess they forgot about all the other locals going for state titles this week.
