Who: Colin Bryan
Team: Windber Ramblers (graduated 2012)
Why: Absolute stud RB...best I've seen in our area (class A) for a LONG time. He ran for 2352 yards last year in 11 games!

Let's get to know Colin Bryan!
1. What was your favorite Windber Rambler football tradition?
Playing for such a historic football town like Windber, there are many traditions I can think of. My favorite tradition was eating our pregame meal on Thursday nights after walk-throughs. Local businesses would sponsor our meals and the food was always great. After a pregame meal is when I really focused on the game ahead.
2. Who has the best facilities in the WestPAC (field, locker room, etc)?
I'm biased towards Windber's facilities, but I'd have to say Portage has the best field and Berlin has the best stadium and locker room.
3. The single wing is a football formation from way back. It has been all sorts of successful for Windber... was it difficult to learn or is that what you've grown up on?
I've been playing in the single wing since 5th grade. It was difficult to learn at first, but by the time I got to junior high I was pretty much familiar with the system.
4. Windber is loaded with good eats. What's your favorite spot for grub and what meal would you get there?
Rizzo's is my favorite spot to eat and the steak tips there are amazing. Also, Mimo's pizza is definitely worth checking out.
5. Last year, I coached against you (from Northern Bedford)... I had nightmares about you prior to the game and they all came true. Please respond.
We were coming off a heartbreaking one point loss to Berlin and my teammates and I were determined to overcome that. We were extremely focused for two weeks and my legs were finally rested up and I was ready to go.
6. In 2011, you played for Coach Grohal. He is a great guy and football coach. Give us some insight into what makes him a great guy to play for.
Communicating with Coach Grohal is easy and that makes him a great guy to play for. He has your best interest in mind and he isn't afraid to push you until you reach your full potential.
7. Did any colleges offer you scholarships and how did you end up making the final decision for yourself as to where you wanted to go to school?
The colleges that contacted me were: Penn, Lafayette, William & Mary, St. Francis, Georgetown, Bucknell, Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Tech, and Rutgers. I did not receive any full scholarships from any of them, most were unable to give full athletic scholarships. I decided on Penn State because it is the best fit for my major (business) and because it is a Division 1 football team that I can try to walk onto if I desire.
8. What will you miss most about high school football?
I will miss the adrenaline rush, knowing my teammates are behind me, and just playing the best sport in the world for my hometown.
9. A year ago, I coached in the Lantzy game. It was a great experience and I know our kids loved it. What was it like playing in that game, scoring a touchdown, and all that stuff?
Playing with all the great players in the area was a great experience. It was really cool becoming friends with players who were rivals during the regular season and the game was fun. It was one of the best weeks of my life.
10. If one person had a shot at a clean hit on you, who would you hate it to be?
I would hate to take that hit from Jacob Craig of Berlin. That kid is a physical specimen and one of the best, if not THE best, player I have played against.
11. You get selected to go on the Amazing Race. Who is your partner and why?
My partner would be Jordan Shroyer of Conemaugh Township because he would give me the best chance of winning and he is a good friend.
12. Windber doesn't exist. What area high school would you want to play for if you had your choice? Why?
Either Richland or Bishop McCort. Richland because of the other athletes on their team and the facilities. McCort because of my best friend Zach Rugg, who used to block for me in the old days, and because McCort is known for producing great football players.
Bonus Question: If a movie is made about Windber football, who plays Coach Grohall??
Channing Tatum, just kidding Kevin James hahaha
