Berlin vs Windber

Can the Ramblers pull this out? If not it looks like these two will be 1 and 4 in the playoffs and could meet up again in two weeks!

It'll definitely be a tough one for both teams. I'm sure the fields and weather will not be ideal, but I was impressed by the football I saw both these teams show case this year. Hopefully this will prove to be what all the hype says, the biggest game in the West-Pac this year!

This game could be close or it could be a blowout..all depends on how Windber responds to getting punched in the face. If Berlin comes out and plays physical ball... which they will, Windber needs to stand their ground and punch back. Instead of players waiting around looking for someone else to make the tackle they need to get it in their heads that they are always the "last man to beat".

I think I'll know in the first two or three series where the game will be heading. What I've seen most of the year is that teams look to move the ball on Windber mostly on their left side...mostly outside the tackle. It seems that when teams get going there, it never stops and that's where teams pick up huge chunks of yardage. Even bad teams like Ferndale went that way. Portage destroyed them there and so did alot of other teams.

If I noticed this then coaches also take note and that's where they pound the ball. If Windber somehow fixes this problem I see a close game. If not, it will be a very long night. If they manage to stuff the ball, our dbs will need to be on their toes in the secondary. We have been fortunate at times with opposing qbs missing guys running around wide open and also have seen plenty of drop balls by the opposition. We need to tighten that up as as well.

All that being said, I want to say how proud the community is of our boys this year. We lost alot from last year but will still have at least an 7 win season and another trip to the playoffs. Many predicted them to go 6-4 or even 5-5 this year but they worked hard and exceeded expectations. Coach Grohal and staff have done a wonderful job. Windber is lucky to have them.

I don't think there's a chance of this being a blowout. There would be potention for a blowout if these teams didn't know each other, but that's not the case. Every year since I've played has been a great game. These games have turned into a bit of a rivalry. Should be interesting. Im going with Berlin, but don't be surprised to see Windber in the trenches fighting right back keeping it a very interesting, fun to watch game.

You were spot on with this post. That was great game to watch. Even if the outcome had been reversed I would have said this. The kids played hard on both sides of the ball, the coaches from both schools called a great game, and it was even better with so many turns in momentum. You just didn't know who was going to win the game.

Can you imagine being Berlin where the only thing on their mind from Oct 28 (or before, who prepares a whole bunch for Rockwood?) through Nov 17 is the Ramblers from Windber??? If TM can pull the upset, Mounties can change their focus on 11/9. Of course the possible Nov 17th rematch switches venues to Berlin.
