Friday night wrestling: Wisconsin at Penn State

Penn state will host wisconsin tonight at 7pm on big ten network. That is channel 610 if you have directv.

I wonder if the alton bros suspension is over so that they can be in the lineup tonight? That taylor, ruth, and wright are studs for them. They lost that good italian guy named frank? and the heavyweight though.

wow what a come from behind OT win for Penn State Conway over #3 Wisconson Garr. As match went on Conways confidence grew and grew and he didn't quit. awsome win. it should be on Flowrestling tomorrow.check it out!!

That was a nice win and he is quick and was in better shape at the end than the other guy. Megalidus is a stud also. That stunk that ruth didn't have anyone to wrestle in a div. 1 big ten match. Taylor and wright didn't let anyone down either as they tore their opponent up. Man when they get the alton bros back that is a solid all around team.

Thanks! That will really make that team even stronger. Can't wait to see psu and iowa. Always good matches and tough the whole way thru with the score. I saw iowa rip ohio state on tv a couple weeks ago. They are good and have a lot of ranked wrestlers also. That brown guy for psu for being ranked 3rd wrestled an unranked badger and looked horrible. How he is 3rd ranked is beyond me. He should have lost that match and was lucky to hold on.

Buddy Matt Brown is a beast! He had an off night against a kid that was game, and on. I also watched Brown destroy 2 ranked kids at 197 last year when he only weighed about 170....Brown will be on the podium at Iowa City....At the d1 level if you have an off night especially in the Big 10 and still win....that says something in itself.

Yah, the big ten is tough but that guy he wrestled didn't even have a good record and wasn't ranked. I love penn state also and hope you are right about an off night. To be ranked 3rd in the nation he must have beat some top quality opponents. Not knocking him, but thought he would have destroyed a non ranked guy. but look at wisconsins 3rd ranked guy lost to penn states guy that wasn't ranked also.

The Alton's won individual titles at 149 and 157 over the weekend at Millersville's "Shorty Hitchcock Tournament." There were a handful of other PSU kids there, mostly backups. Also of local interest, Nick Roberts placed 2nd at 125, losing to Penn's Mark Rappo.

That is good for psu that the altons are still wrestling and winning thru the suspension. I got on ohio state site last week and saw roberts was doing well at tourneys, but without the studs from the other teams. It is like a jv tourney. He had 1st in one and 2nd and 5th. He had to beat an ohio state kid in one of them at that weight. Seems like nick is doing well for a freshman. I thought he redshirted though?? Can he still go and wrestle tourneys with a redshirt?
