Playoff Rotation
Playoff Rotation
Started to get into this in another thread but who is the 1-4 starters for a playoff series assuming the current rotation is healthy and Wandy can return before the post season:
I assume everyone has Liriano and Burnett in the rotation 1 and 2. Who pitches in a 1 game play-in? I got Liriano...
Here is where it gets interesting and I think it may depend on what happens in early in the series. If the buccos are down 0-2 in the series do you put Locke and Cole out there in a must win? Probably not...
My gut tells me game 3 will be in the hands of Locke, game 4 in the hands of Morton.
Cole and Wandy will probably be bullpen options but who do you take the ball from in the tank? I would rather see Mark the shark, Grille, Watson, Mazzaro, Gomez, Wilson, and Farnsworth come in for an out or two before a starter pitching outside of his comfort zone.
Thoughts?

Re: Playoff Rotation
I would rather see Cole than Locke right now.
In a 1 game playoff, I would definitely NOT want to see AJ pitch. The Yankees wanted rid of him, because he couldn't handle the big moments in games. They skipped his starts at times. I'd want to see Liriano.

Did you watch game 2 of the Yankees/Phillies World Series? I'm the opposite I think Burnett is a great must win game pitcher.

He did pitch 1 good game in that series 7ip 1er and 1 bad game 2 ip 6 er. I just seem to remember towards the end the Yankees didn't trust him in key spots.
Right now I'd trust Liriano more. I'd just prefer to not be in a 1 game playoff

Liriano Cole Burnett Morton Locke in that order.Cole has the best percentage of quality starts on the staff. Burnett has given up 10 earned runs last 2 starts. Wandy is a wild card think he is a better option in long relief at this point in time

Re: Playoff Rotation
Assuming they get to series, playoff rotations are generally 3 or 4 guys. I'd go 3 with liriano, cole, Burnett ,,,,, with a short leash in 5-6 innings
