West PAc Vs. District 7
Was Windber the first West-Pac team to beat a district 7 team in football ? Does any other West-Pac team have a chance to win against a district 7 opponent this year?
Re: West PAc Vs. District 7
Yes, Berlin could hang with some of the teams, and same with Portage...windbers win was not impressive at all, just because they are D7 doesn't make them good.

Re: West PAc Vs. District 7
After losing to Meyersdale the previous weekend, it's not out of the question that Windber could finish as the 4th or 5th best team in the Westpac. As things stand now, Windber is nowhere near the cream of the crop in the Westpac so I'd say the win over Brentwood was somewhat impressive. I've always repected Animus's opinions of the WPIAL and he has Brentwood in his top ten so they can't be all that bad...PApride wrote:Yes, Berlin could hang with some of the teams, and same with Portage...windbers win was not impressive at all, just because they are D7 doesn't make them good.

Well hate to be bursting bubbles, but Brentwood is 1-2 and is the township of that conference, always middle of the pack.

Re: West PAc Vs. District 7
I don't think either one of us were saying a westpac team could beat the best teams in the WPIAL but I do think they could hang with the middle of the pack, I'd say after the top 6 teams in the WPIAL it could be Berlin and portage in at 7 and 8
Re: West PAc Vs. District 7
Even thought Brentwood is 1-2 their losses come to Monessen and now Windber. ATM I'd say Brentwood is behind Clairton, Fort Cherry, and Monessen. The 4th playoff spot in the Blackhills will come down to Char Houston and Brentwood. Being #4 in the Blackhills would equal to the top team coming out of the TCS and the 3rd coming out of the Eastern or Big 7.
WPIAL Top 10
1 Clairton (Blackhills)
2 Sto Rox (Big 9)
3 Neshannock (Big 9)
4 N. Catholic (Eastern)
5 Apollo Ridge (Eastern)
6 Fort Cherry (Blackhills)
7 Monessen (Blackhills)
8 Laurel (Big 9)
9 West Shamokin (Eastern)
10 Chartiers Houston (Blackhills)
I don't know if Windber/Portage could beast Apollo Ridge through Monessen but they'd give em games for sure. Schools like West Shamokin, Char Houston and such they are more than capable of winning.

Re: West PAc Vs. District 7
CH is on a down yr though, def a lot better in yrs past Berlin only a had good team for what 2 yrs now? Honestly yr in and yr out no one in the westpac really has a chance to make noise in the WPIAL and in all of D6 I'd say Bellwood would be the one to make the most noise, along with BM....with the exception of this yr
