What would be the first change you'd make on the Steelers?

Good question and tough answer. Ahh offensive line, quarterback, running back, defensive back, defensive line, linebackers, wide receivers and head coach.

That's the entire problem, Coach. There isn't one area where you could say this is a good team if this unit was better. Lot's of holes to fill, it's going to be awhile...

I don't really get all the heat on Haley. It's not his fault this is the least talented offense the Steelers have run out there since the Tommy Maddox days. It's also not his fault that the guy before him has had a lot of success since he left (Arians).

SCube is right. There are so many changes that need made right now. I don't think any one move will make much of a difference. Tomlin will not be going anywhere. The Steelers are very loyal to their coaches. I could possibly see Haley going, if the offense sees no improvement all year. The defense is the least of their worries, but it certainly does not produce turnovers, is not intimidating, and not as fierce as typical Steeler defenses. Hasn't been that way for years.

I Think what has held the Steelers back most is their drafts. There first round picks have not been home runs and their late round picks haven't panned out (outside of Antonio Brown). I never liked the #1 choices of 3-4 lineman with the first overall pick. 3-4 lineman are not difference makers. They are run stoppers and can be had later.

I agree with Kirk. It's not just 1 thing. When things go wrong, they have a habit of snowballing. That's what is happening now. Haley was somewhat successful in KC, when he had a line to open holes for their backs. I'm curious, I don't know if he'd come back or not, but did they ask Legurski to come back? He'd be a decent sub for Pouncey if he's willing. The line is where it starts. Or are the Steelers in the Manziel Derby?

I'd start with Tomlin pulled a Jon Gruden and went to Super Bowls with the previous coaches team. Go back through his draft history and see how many guys are even still on the team....There's Brown and Jones looks good

2007: Timmons and Woodley....nothing else unless you count Gay
2008:NOBODY The Mendenhall Sweed draft
2009: Ziggy Hood...Wallace, Lewis all gone rest didn't pan out
2010: Pouncey, Brown, Sanders, Dwyer....His best draft
2011: Allen, Curtis Brown, and Heyward

Won't even go into what they could've drafted because teams pass on good ones every draft for mistake picks...but they have had a pattern of it under Tomlin

Here is the most frustrating thing for me so far this year. The 1st game of the season Pouncey and Foote go down for the year. Are they big losses, yes. At the same time though they are playing the most violent sport in the history of sports, so it should be expected. What gets me is the lack of the steelers having any plan for injuries. They had to sign a center and a linebacker that were completely out of football. I'm thinking, you just had training camp a week prior. You mean to tell me they didn't sit in the off season and put a plan together if a middle linebacker or center gets hurt?

That is inexcusable. The best football team in January is usually never the best team in Sept. What makes a team good is quality depth, versatile players, and a system that is easy to plug the next man up into and have them able to contribute as quickly as possible. I just don't understand why they didn't put a plan together in camp of what they are going to do if each position were to suffer an injury.

Exactly crf. If you look at those drafts, it makes you realize why the Steelers have an older team. They have drafted no one to supplant older veterans. I hate to say it, but having nearly the same position in the draft year after year, Baltimore drafts very well

True. The fact the Steelers were hurt by losing Larry Foote tells it all. Larry Foote should not even be a Steeler if they draft well. Larry Foote is the veteran you sign to come off the bench in case an injury happens to your starter. If Larry Foote is your starter, you are in trouble.
