most exciting match at d6 districts?

Post by packerfan »

the match im anticipating the most is brock/strayer......but tate/anderson might be up there as well, seeing how they are not the traditional "push each other around for 6 minute" heavyweights.

Potential match-ups

Post by front headlock »

There are a lot of GREAT potential match-ups for districts!!!!! Some may even happen before the FINALS!!

103 - Ritchey/Albright

112 - None

119 - Paronish/Valko II

125 - Scott/Clark - great match, but the winner will get beat by Strayer

130 - McCloskey/McIntyre - another great match but the winner will get beat by Scott

135 - Westley/Inzana ; Shaffer/Owens -plus Gephart is in this weight --very stacked weight class

140 - Shawver/Hower/Boring - however it works out, should be a good match between whichever 2 wrestle

145 - Sunderland/Deffibaugh/Clemens/Moss - again however it works out, they should be good matches

152 - Moss/Fowler II --plus Mertiff/Knott/Thompson are here so any of these matchups are good

160 - None

171 - None

189 - Kisel/Rogers

215 - None

275 - Tate/Anderson/Neese - however it works out, should be a good match between whichever 2 wrestle......one of them may have to wrestle BOTH of the other two

THIS IS WHY DISTRICT TIME IS THE GREATEST TIME OF THE SEASON.....WITH ALL OF THE WRESTLERS SMELLING THE GOLD!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL WRESTLERS!!! WE'LL BE WATCHING

You are overlooking a couple matchups; There may or maynot be any state medalists at 160,171,or 215.But there will be some exciting matches there as well.171-Walk/KrouseII-215 Buzzinotti/Adams,Bishop,and Paluch should present some good matches
The marquee matchups will be at 125,135,and HWT.

no matter how you look at it if you are not at Tyrone Area High School for the District 6 finals you are going to miss probably the most stacked district tournament outside of District 11. End of story

I personally don't think Brock Scott/Jake Strayer will be the close match alot of people think it will. Jake is on a different level than him. It would take a huge upset for Scott to be a District champ. Garrett, however, is another story. I would give almost anything to see another 3 Strayer/G. Scott matches. As "swat" mentioned above, if you miss the tournament at Tyrone you are missing out big time.

awesome, but not likely--I will say this, though: Jake has thought about that move all season long. Trust me.

FHWRESTLINGCOACH you are able to talk a lot more about Jake personally than anyone else on here but just from seeing Jake wrestle I haven't seen that "other level" that is on instead of Brock. i think alot of it is when he started varsity as a freshaman he was unbelievable b/c nobody had ever saw anything like him. I honestly think it is impossible for him to ever get tired and when he goes to Penn State I will put money on it that he is in better condition than anybody on that team and that will show. But over the past 4 years he hasn't changed. He hasn't changed his style and he was in such great condition when he was a freshman that he really could only try and maintain it and not improve on it. He was just so far ahead of everyone that it's been hard for everyone to catch up to him and that's where his skill lies.

As for Garrett, Jake would not beat him this year. Garrett might have won states but he lost to Jake twice and he has learned from that. If Jake scored more than 5 points on him i would be highly suprised. Garrett is just too much for anyone right now.

I agree...Garrett is a phenom, but not unbeatable! 4 State titles is very very hard...and being on top and staying there in wrestling may quite possibly be the hardest thing in athletics to do. Garrett has no competition during the season other than his practices with other great wrestlers across the state, but what is practice...practice doesn't make perfect, it makes habits! Strayer practices good habits too...believe me, I went to camp with him! But that match will not be wrestled so we'll settle for Brock vs. Strayer which, like the FHWRESTLINGCOACH says, will not be close. Strayer has that "other level" over Brock.
