Gameday traditions

Post by Coach »

Any cool game day or Thursday night traditions to talk about? I was just thinking about some college traditions and figured there have to be some neat HS ones too.

Tyrone does a starter dinner after practice on Thurday night at a team members house. They have been doing that for years.

Ending practice with a last second field goal?
Lou Holtz drill for snap counts?
5 Keys to Victory?
Old game film for those away game bus rides?
How about some post game Marianna's Hoagies
Sophomores and Seniors paired off as buddies?

Raising of the State Final flags and the 12th man
If you ever been to a Tyrone game, look for our Mega Phone man, Mr Miles

Sadly one of the cooler traditions in the MAC comes from a tragedy. Each Friday night for Bald Eagle Area a team member wears the 31 of the late Steve Dorman.

FH has walkthroughs, then the team heads off to a local church (different every week) for church service (purely voluntary by the players) then return to the school for a spaghetti dinner.

Very nice tradition. Penns Manor players Pray in the end zone individually (Also voluntary about 99% do) before the start of the game a few before 2nd half.

The Rangers also kneel in a circle on the 50 and have team prayer before the start, and at the half of every game.
It ain't over until it's over.
