a-rod deal approved by union

Post by slacker »

do you think this deal will hurt small teams such as the tigers, pirates, and brewers?

pretty sure a rod and jeter's contracts are high then the pirates whole pay roll

break down of batting order and money they earn an inning:

1. Kenny Lofton, CF $2,126
2. Derek Jeter, SS $11,659
3. Alex Rodriguez, 3B $14,403
4. Jason Giambi, 1B $6,858
5. Gary Sheffield, RF $8,916
6. Bernie Williams, DH $8,230
7. Jorge Posada, C $4,115
8. Hideki Matsui, LF $4,801
9. Miguel Cairo, 2B $617
Kevin Brown, RHP

heck if i had a dollar for every all star game these guys went to i'd have about 50 bucks... exaggerating

$14,403 to walk to a plate and swing at a ball? this has just become ridiculous, honestly! the lowest paid athelete in the 4 major sports makes more money in a year than the George W.!!!

I agree gunner, that is rediculous. I once heard Randy Johnson makes $1,000 per pitch!! Can anyone confirm this?

I also agree. Some don't deserve the money they get, but some do. A select few play with heart and not for the money. A friend of mine and his father went to a Pirates game when Bonds was still in town. During batting practice, they were only a few feet away from him and asked if they could have a ball. He told them if they wanted one to go buy one. They yelled back to him if they had the money he did they would. So you see they are not only in it for the money but they also see themselves higher.

Baseball is digging its own grave. With no fan base there is no revenue. Sure the Yankees and the Sox can play each other 162 times for a season and thats really all New York and Boston fans care about anyway. They couldn't give a darn about the rest of the league.

So I say let MLB implode, the game is joke anyway now a days. With the steroid scandal and this new trade MLB is in big trouble in the future.

Lastly, don't bad mouth Steinbrenner, its his money and he's not breaking any rules. Blame Selig and the Union for all of baseball's woes!
