Sorry, but they are public schools. You have to keep them or create yet another class just for them.

Seriously though, one very interesting concept from the article mentioned a "two year success factor" which would promote consistently successful teams up one classification for the next two year cycle while also providing an option for them to slide back down if they face a downturn. I would prefer an evaluation every year, but I could see how that could have a negative impact to scheduling for districts that create a district wide schedule within classes.

After seeing the brackets for A and AA, I don't think I'm in favor of 6 classes. I think 5 may be the better way to break up AAA and AAAA.

I don't have a problem with a separate class for either privates or "religious-based" schools.

I truly believe if they adopt the move up policy it helps with the private/cath debate. and if they use recent success as in past 2 cycles, teams will be placed where they should be with the woods/preps at the top. It also doesn't punish schools like BG who are just having a good run

The single A playoff bracket is basically. D6 & D7 is one side of the bracket and the rest of the state is on the other side of the bracket. D5/D9 and I believe several others would have either 8 or 9 regular season game while district 6 would still play 10 regular season games.
