ICC Week 2

Post by ICCFan »

Everett (0-1) at Glendale (0-1) Everett has a lot of promise with as good of a line returning as anyone in the conference but looks like they may struggle to score points. Glendale has some explosiveness as witnessed by several big plays last week at NBC but may have the most porous defense in the conference. Everett bounces back with a 28-7 road win.

Juniata Valley (0-1) at Mount Union (0-1) Mount Union's size and experience, not to mention home field advantage, will probably be way too much for this Green Hornet squad in this Huntingdon County encounter. This may not be as good a group as last years Trojan squad but they aren't as far off as some people might think. Mount Union 41 Juniata Valley 6

Claysburg (1-0) at West Branch (1-0) Two undefeated squads take the field (who really thought we would be saying that!) for a big game in Morrisdale this Friday. These are, in my opinion, the two league sleepers this year and this result could tell us a lot more about what's in store for the rest of the season from these improved squads. In what I feel will be a terrific game that could go either way, let's say Claysburg by a two-point conversion, 22-21.

Southern Huntingdon (1-0) at Williamsburg (0-1) I'm uncertain about this Williamsburg squad. Indications and speculation was that another winning season was in order but they were handled in their opener while SH, an unknown quantity with a few key players returning, breezed in their opener. Based on last weeks results alone, which might be a mistake, S.Huntingdon 28 Williamsburg 14.

Northern Bedford (1-0) at Tussey Mountain (0-1) If you go by week 1 results this has the appearance of a blowout. But, let's keep in mind a couple things. NBC racked up 61 versus in all probability the most inexperienced defense in the conference and TM lost to the 6-AA favorites on their home field. Then the rivalry factor comes into play and.....a closer than many would anticipate NBC win, 33-21.

GAME OF THE WEEK

Bellwood (0-1) at Mo Valley (1-0) Not only is this the game of the week, it's the most mystifying game of the week. How down (If down at all?) is Bellwood and how good areSherkel and the Black Knights? I don't have the answers to either but Friday night may answer those questions. All indications point to this being Mo Valley's year to beat the Blue Devils and they are at home....but somehow I just can't get past that Bellwood "mojo" and I'll take Coach Hayes squad in a 28-22 thriller.
