BGCHS @ FH Monday eve

Post by Manfred »

What is everyone's thoughts on this one?  Missing pieces, injuries, ??  FH started the season w/o 2 starters, and took down a good North Star team last week in Boswell.  FH has BCCHS a couple days later this week.
It ain't over until it's over.

North Star is not a good team by any means....their varsity would struggle against LHAC JV teams. Should be a good test for FH and new head coach Vescovi this week. The nice thing is he is preparing for essentially the same scheme twice in one week. The BC game, the players should be accustomed to the trapping and not overwhelmed.

Uhh, maybe I should have spelled it out that this was for the LADIES side.  The Ladies played tonight in Sidman.  The Boys aren't missing any starters and play AT BGU Wed. nt.   As it was, the Lady Rangers dispensed loss #3 to BGU.  57-41.  FH has replaced 2 starters fairly well.  30 points for Jill Scott.  For BG, Time to hit the recr.......trail!

I hope your are joking.  While I agree with your statement and Forest Hills does a nice job with their elementary girls, BG is vastly different.  Most of BG's starting lineup never played within the Altoona parochial elementary program.  They are products of other district's hard work.  Many of the kids that played in the parochial system quit when all the transfers came.   It will never change in there.

I agree with districtsixhoops.....BG is in no way "like" any public school.  Not to take away from any of their players, as an individual, because those girls work as hard as any other players, but I will always cheer for the public school over any private.  Yes, congrats to Forest Hills for doing a nice job bringing along some of their own players to replace the players that quit.  Congrats to FH coach for overcoming much criticism when having to coach her own kid, who is the real deal kind of player.  Congrats to Jill Scott for stepping up in the BG game!  Interestingly enough, there was no article in The Mirror.....peculiar to anyone else? I would think that game would have had coverage.

Yeah, even the local offering covered it! I was going to run to Ebensburg to get a Mirror today, but didn't. Glad I saved the gasoline.

I cannot speak for the other girl but Olivia Gregorich did not "quit" the Lady Rangers as has been stated here (and before) by ICoach and Manfred. You have to start something before you quit. She told Lady Ranger Coach Cecere two weeks prior to open gym starting that she was not playing this year so she could dedicate her Winter to softball (camps, training...) which she hopes to play at the next level. This also has nothing to do with Coach Cecere (even though this has also been referred to) because she really enjoyed playing not only her freshman and sophomore years but since she was in grade school for her. She is not and has never been a quitter so ICoach and Manfred please get your facts straight before you blog! Go Lady Rangers!

That's nice.  We were talking about the girls.
