ICC Week 5
ICC Week 5
Finally a 5-1 week and 17-9 overall now. Still can’t hit a Williamsburg game to save my rear end. There are a lot of pivotal games on the card this week….I don’t see any surefire “locks” in these six games so I’ll be hard pressed to go 5-1 again.
Williamsburg at Tussey Mt. – Surely this streak has to end, I am 0-4 picking Blue Pirate games this year. This week they travel to Tussey. It’s a dangerous spot if they take the Titans lightly because they haven’t won but they’ve been very competitive. Bottom line is that Williamsburg has too many athletes. Not intending to jinx Coach Hearn but….Williamsburg 27 Tussey Mountain 16.
Juniata Valley at Southern Huntingdon – A Huntingdon county rival game. Oh to bring back the days of the Bill Clouse vs Ted Nypaver rivalries! I think the Green Hornets are a little bit better but the Rockets are at home. Look for JV to load the line of scrimmage versus a SH offense that has struggled to pass the ball efficiently. That’s the difference maker. JV 16 SH 14.
Northern Bedford at Everett – This is a huge matchup. An Everett team that upset Mo Valley and went toe to toe with Bellwood statisitically versus a Northern team that is just doing enough to win. I’m going to go with the “history theory” on this one. Northern seems to find a way to win close games, Everett over time has found many ways to lose close games. A big play or two will make the difference in this one. NBC 28 Everett 18.
Claysburg at Glendale – Glendale seems to be improving and is more competitive than they’ve been but they are still the cellar dweller. Key for Claysburg is getting a good start and raising the confidence level of their players who have to be really questioning themselves at this point with all the expectations people had for them. Claysburg 38 Glendale 7.
Mount Union at West Branch – This is a dangerous spot for Mount Union. West Branch has a nice football team and are at home hungry to get back on the winning track after a lot of close calls. The Trojans get a scare but hang on. Mount Union 22 West Branch 20.
Mo Valley at Bellwood - This is the biggest matchup of the week regarding the championship chase in the ICC. Mo Valley has the horses to pull this off but something tell me that Bellwood will really be well prepared for this game and you may see them play up to another level this week. Add to that B-A is home and I’m calling for a Blue Devil victory going away. Bellwood 34 Mo Valley 12

Re: ICC Week 5
I'll agree with all the picks. NBC/Everett, Mount Union/West Branch, and Mo Valley/Bellwood are really big games this week. Everett and Mo Valley need wins to stay in the hunt.
Things could get REALLY interesting with what we'd perceive as "upsets" this week in those three games. You'd have Bellwood-Antis, Everett, Juniata Valley, Mount Union, Northern Bedford, and Williamsburg all at 3-1 in the conference after 4 weeks.
