"The Passion of the Christ"

Post by Coach »

Who is seeing this movie? Do you think it was a good/great movie?

I know I want to see it...I wish it was in English though so I didn't have to read the subtitles, but using the Latin and Aramaic will help put you into the time and make it even more real I suppose.

On the news last night they were talking about it and according to them, the critics couldn't decide if it was moving or revolting...but that's just the critics. I also heard them talk about that Jewish leaders around the world are concerned because the movie may cause conflicts and violence towards Jewish people.

I still want to see it.

If the movie is anti-Jewish then the whole New Testament is anti-Jewish! I think most Christians understand that it was our sins that put Him there.

I don't think that they meant the movie is anti-Jewish...I didn't listen to all of the report that's just what I caught from it in passing. I agree with you too bedrock that most Christians understand the story, but there was concern that the movie may spark violence. But everyone knows, and I'm sure Mel Gibson knew when he was creating the movie, that anything that deals with religion and certain ideals, that controversy is nearly guaranteed to be surrounding it.

I wonder if before the movie some stunt guy who had to be flogged for the film is talking about how he gets ripped off if Dean burns the movie for everyone.

Sick attempt at humor
