Steroids

Post by theoneandonly »

I just read a report that Bonds, Giambi, and Sheffield all recieved steroids and human growth hormone. If and of these are true then baseball is going to get yet another black eye. Just when everyone thought baseball was saved by McGwire and Sosa with the home run race baseball gets this.

Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.

Even if they didn't use the steroids it still looks bad for them. They put themselves in a position that could jeprodize their standing as All Stars. Just like Kobe... even if he didn't rape the girl he still killed his image.

i dislike bonds as much as anybody. i think he was on steriods but i dont know whether all his numbers should have an asterik as some ppl have said now. i do definatly think that strict testing wil remove this problem for the future. the players just need to step up to their union and demand it. testing will help clear the names of some of the maligned players that are connected to balco.

call me a bonds hater from back in his pirate days....but i think that he probably has taken them, and if it is proven, then all his records should be forfeit. give me a break, imagine putting aaron or the Babe on juice....now that would be some HR power

Are you saying that Aaron or Babe wouldn't have taken something that would give them significantly more power if they had access to it? Don't get me wrong I don't agree with taking steroids but I can understand why people would want to take them. Asterix or not Bonds has done something no one has ever done before. He'll always be known for that.

I saw Marvin Bernard was named in this too. Local connection as Bernard was the competition of Keith Williams. If Bernard left Keith was staying in the bigs.
Steroids are a huge advantage in sports but will kill you like they did to Johnny Perry.

I don't think you can put an asterisk beside Barry's name. Just because of the fact that there is no proof that he was taking them during his record setting year. Also, it takes more than muscle to hit the ball out of the park. That is just my opinion though.

just saw that andy van slyke came out and said that he believes that barry bonds is on roids. i dont know if this means anything but it gives a good idea of what hif former pirate teammates think of him.

why are all the home run hitters, bonds, giambi, sosa, manny ramirez, all mountinous men? and why arent ichiro, luis castillo, and other small guys who have great batting avg's not getttin any home runs? i know the players' swing has a lot to do with it. my point is that muscles are what generates the swing and this fact makes anybody who uses steroids a cheater.
