Maybe that is why McConnellsburg is sooooo good in basketball. they have smart coaches!!

All kidding aside, Moats probably was one of the best players in Fannett Metal History Maybe even one of the better players in Franklin County as well, I dunno, he was pretty tough to beat. All you had to do to beat Fannett those years was outscore him.

What about the A.J. Nastasi shrine in the locker room at Southern Fulton?? haha the "Italian Stallion" I'll never forget that decorated locker

So you would take Moats over Nastasi? Where is that shrine at in Southern Fulton??

I never said I would EVER take Moats over Nastasi, I was only stating that Moats was Fannett's entire team normally. In games when Nastasi and Moats played, Nastasi owned Moats! About the shrine at Southern Fulton, a psycho cheerleader had a monument built to AJ in her locker my senior year. It was hilarious, she had the Italian National Flag and pictures of Nastasi with "Italian Stallion" printed over it!!!

I don't know why this is called the "Fannet Metal" shrine, cause I went to FM and I witnessed all of Stu's accomplishments, and I NEVER knew anything about a website......but its kinda nice to know that someone thinks of him so highly!

When Schriver left McConnellsburg that was the end of the goooood coaches!!!! Look at the last 2 they have had and their out of school records. I agree, Moats was one of the best all around and unselfish players in the area at the time. Nastasi was somebody that the whole team depended on instead of each other. His floor percentage was terrible - 25 to 30%- and once he graduated, how much did he do in basketball after that?

Check those percentages again xcoach. I believe it was closer to 45-50 percent. In fact, I KNOW it was that high.

After high school, Nastasi went on to play D1 football and was a starter in the BIG EAST. He went for football, not basketball so that is why he no longer played roundball.
