District IX Clout

Anyone else starting to wonder how D9 is getting so many breaks in the PIAA basketball playoffs.

To start, the brackets are currently setup so the district 9 champion & runnerup (A & AA) don't have to play a D7 or D10(year in and year out the top districts in the west in A & AA)champion or runnerup until at the earliest the third round.

Second no District 9 qualifier in any class had to play a WPIAL team in the first round. On the inverse all four of District 5's qualifiers had to play a WPIAL team in the first round.

Finally, how about the sites for the D9 A champion and runnerup. After playing their District Semi finals and District Final at Clarion Univeristy, both have played each of their PIAA playoff games at Clarion University and the next round game for each is also scheduled for Clarion. This seems extremely unusual.

Just some thoughts.

seems to me that they are sort of home games for d9 to keep playing at clarion

the home court thing happens everywhere in every sport. altoona football played the district title game on its own field this year, bishop carroll played for the district title as well as the state semifinal game at mansion park as well. for baseball williamsport gets to play in their backyard if they make it to the state finals, meanwhile wpial teams or whatever have to drive what? 3-4 hours? its how the system works, it sucks for the away team but thats the piaa for ya i guess

Isn't there a board or something that reviews these things?? If there is..why don't they do something about it?

How about Westmont (District 6 Champ) having to travel 2 hours to DuBois (District 9) to play Keystone (District 9 Champ) whose trip was less than an hour. Did I mention the game was officiated by District 9 officials?
