Anyone have any names of people who have aspirations of being a head coach?

The term “clean house” is thrown around all the time, where exactly is a school district in our area going to find 4-5 qualified varsity level coaches when you “clean house”?

Unless I am missing something, we have an area where the population is declining and a lot of our best and brightest move on out of the area.

Who are some of these potential coaches out there that you think could take a program and make it a winner? Are they a teacher? Do they run a business or have a night shift job where they could attend practice, camp, 7-7’s in the summer, weightlifting in the mornings all summer? Do they have any coaching experience at all? Even junior high?

Just curious who is out there that is going to take all these positions of the guys who are on the hot seat?

This is spot on

CC gets a lot of hate, but this notion of coaching change after coaching change baffles me. In CC’s case, they’re on what, 5 coaches in the last 10-15 years? All with the same result. At what point do you stop blaming coaches and start to think about what else could be the problem.

Franco, who is well respected in the area, went to PC and did not have success, where Felus came and has had success, but he also was gifted a generational talent in Garrett Harold as a freshman to build a program around for the first 4 years he was there. The long term success of the program is still to be determined.

There are very few programs around that have had consistent success for decades. CC was very good in the 90’s and 2000’s, they aren’t now. Maybe it’s that they haven’t changed with the times, maybe it’s something else. Is coaching the problem at Johnstown or is it something else? Same with any struggling program.

Fans and parents want the easy way out and place blame on coaches, but IMO a coach carousel isn’t the solution to a struggling program

Felus came into a program hungry and willing to do anything to win. They have there motto mountain mentality and it's going pretty good for them.

Alot of focus goes on CC but what about Huntingdon? I'm old enough to remember when Huntingdon was the toughest game on the schedule.

Maybe give some younger guys a chance. Shutty at NC was young at CC. I would rather see guys like that get a chance then dinosaurs like Fye.
