Bonds will pass Aaron on the all time HR list

Post by theoneandonly »

If he decides to play for a few more years... i think he'll do it. He has an outside shot at catching Ruth this year... only needs 54 more.

An asterisk for what? He's innocent until proven guilty... in my eyes at least. IF one day he fails a steroid test then my view will change... but until then all his HR's are legit. He just crushed number 661 a few minutes ago. Even if he does juice... muscles alone won't hit homeruns for you... if they did then all the guys in the World Strong Man comp would be making the jump to the MLB. If there is an asterisk for anyting it should be for how many times ppl pitched around him.. or who knows how many he would have now.

Hey I agree on this one...

I personally think he is the BEST EVER as I voted today on ESPN.com.

The asterisk could appear if he is proven guilty. There are a lot of people that don't like him now...if he would be guilty...there are many people out there who would love to see him go down.

Barry Bonds though is as good as it gets. As they said the other night on Baseball Tonight, he COULD hit .400 because he is so smart (as long as he doesn't press for the long ball). He gets counts in his favor because no one wants the ball close to the zone. He wasn't all that far off last year if I recall...

Coach this might be the first thing we've ever agreed on!! I don't really even like Bonds that much as a player but I don't dislike him either. I sure do respect his accomplishments though.

ewww, the best ever? i dont know about that. he is a homerun machine, but hes not that great on defense. i know hes got golden gloves, but hes got a candy arm. if he didnt, then the buccos would have been in the world series years ago. he is great, but i still think hes a juiced up jerk.

I'm not into the whole media...jerk thing.

So he doesn't enjoy talking to the press. I wouldn't either. I just don't see him as a jerk because the media says so. If he brushes them off, they write him off.

Best ever...
yeah I think so. Guys like Babe played against one race. Now not only do black athletes play (and outnumber) whites...but we have a wide range of races playing ball.

wasnt there a huge thing on espn last year about the black community being constantly on the decrease, as the black athletes are looking towards other sports now? i just dont think the race thing means much, as most pitcheers are white anyhow.

It is like the small school-big school thing.

What is easier...beating a team of only kids from PA or beating a team of kids from PA and Florida?

Half is half no matter how you split it.

Babe wouldn't have faced guys like Pedro, Mariano Rivera, Javier Vasquez, Bartolo Colon, etc...
