If D5 school districts had as much or more $...

...than D6 school districts, that would raise the competition level of both districts.

Now I know this may bring up the old D5 vs. D6 but I've been thinking about all the small AA & A schools and how if they had more money and more opportunities there would be better competion and would translate into more success in inter-districts.

I say fact, and even though I may have pushed some buttons by posting this, I feel it has to be known. If Westmont and McCort are spelled G-R-E-E-D :evil: , then why can't Bedford and CR be known as the new powers? All it takes is a little cash flow to get started in the right direction.

Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest. I may be wrong but I think we can be great.

Money won't buy players, athletes, and able bodies.

McCort is private, and Westy is a pretty wealthy district. Not the school itself, BUT the families that live there. Families that are well off financially usually produce better athletes...that has been an observation of mine. If the kid doesn't have to work and can focus on sports then he or she is that much better....

Just throwing money around won't do anything...I don't think.

i agree with coach. money cant buy talent on the high school level, now if were talking pro, then absolutely, just ask the yankees, (or chelsea if ur an english soccer fan.) but there are schools like berlin that dont even have a track but their girls track team is undefeated. nice uniforms and nice facilities dont make better atheletes.

and just a side note about westy...they are probly the richest neighborhood per capita in the d5/d6 area, but yet, there atheletic complexes are some of the worst!

true true gunner, i live almost in westmont and it is a very nice place to be. the houses are quite lovely and large. but i have played on their soccer fields and there the pits, ive run on their track, which is nice..any track beats what we dont have. but their pit is horrible. its like jumping into cement. I dont know what the throwers have to deal with, but i dont think its very nice.


But if the school has money, it can create the good atheletes. it can bring in the coaches, pay for the equipment that helps develop talent. Kids can run on a nice track, lift in a large room, with the best equipment, have the best coachs to push them for betterness, get new shoes/pads so that they dont get hurt by shoddy padding and the like. So there is a point, you still need talent, which cant be bought, unless your a private school.

Well, I'm with CT here. It can be fact, depending on what the dough goes towards. More money buys better coaches and better facilities. I think Coach I is a great track coach, and no amount of money could get anybody that would do a better job. Kudos for softball. But we probably could upgrade our football coach and maybe baseball coach some. And it certainly would be nice to get some treadmills and weight machines, and a few other things to upgrade our facilities. And that would improve the skill level of our athletes.
