Boone a Pirate?

Post by foghorn »

Have heard and read from a few sources the Bucs are exploring the possibility of signing Aaron Boone? Is this a good move if it comes to be? He seems to have been hurt a lot in his career. Still, when he's healthy he's a quality player. Or at least that's been my impression over the years. Whaddaya think?

If we get him, great. If not..we still need to find a 3rd baseman. He is hurt right now, but i dont think that hes hurt often. This ones just a bad injury. I read that he wont be back till next year though, so what good does it do signing him to help now?

The Pirates had a good third baseman in Aramis Ramirez, but of course they got rid of him. So why sign Boone? To have him for a year, and then get rid of him? I just don't understand the Pirates.

I would love to see the buccos sign him for a good rate, dont overspend since he is a lifetime 270 hitter, however, he would be our best player right now, relax jack wilson fans its only a matter of time till his average drops and Craig Wilson's defense will have him in the AL being a DH in the next 2 seasons.

Finally, I loved the trade of Aramis last year he is a total bum and Bobby Hill will help us out alot more than he will.

Ramirez 162 game average stats: .263 BA, 24 HR, 92 RBI

Hill 162 game average stats: .254 BA, 10 HR, 50 RBI

no matter how bad Ramirez is on defense, Hill will never be half the hitter Aramis is...
