The"Big Unit"is better than"The Rocket"
I'd have to go with the the Unit on this one.

Rocket has more strikeouts, wins, Cy Youngs and championships then RJ... gotta go with the numbers here... Rocket is better.

of the 4 that have at least 4000 strikeouts(ryan, clemens, carlton, johnson)rj averages more k's per 9 innings than any of the others. almost 1.5 more, is the oldest to pitch a no-no, and has at least one ring. i think he may be tied with clemens for cy young wins

Nolan Ryan was older than him when he pitched his 7th no hitter. I think he was 44 and im pretty sure Randy Johnson isnt 44 yet.

Clemens has 6 Cy Youngs... most in history... RJ has 4.

hey england, i swear someone said johnson is the oldest person to pitch a no-no. I could be wrong though. But I think you have to look at the teams each has played for. Johnsons been on seatlle and the d-backs, while clemens has pitched for the red sox..always been a good team, the yankees..they're the yankees what can you say besides i hate them. And now the astros. Each team is good. I think the rocket has had better support over the years then the unit has which makes your numbers look better, see W-L column. I think that the unit is the better pitcher. Clemens has better stats, but the Johnson would be scary to face. Hes like 6'6" and throws a mean ball.

I just read something interesting Nolan Ryan lost 5 no-hitters in the 9th inning. Thats amazing considering he already has seven. Nolan Ryan was 44 when he threw his seventh no-hitter and Randy Johnson is only 40 years old this year. Nolan was 43 when he threw his sixth no-hitter which is still older than Randy Johnson. Maybe Randy was the oldest to do it in the National League because Nolans final 2 no-hitters were in the American League.

Rj made his major league debut sept. 15 1988. Clemens made his debut almost 4 years earlier-May 15 1984. Unit has 5 c.y. plus has won a c.y. in both leagues...
