2006 MLB All Star Game...

Post by brlnsoccerchick19 »

Seriously...is there anyone out there that is as excited about this as I am? I'm a huge baseball fan, and since I was too young to really go to the last one in Pittsburgh, this one at PNC Park is a dream come true. I'm starting a "Buying Tickets for the All Star Game" fund right now. For once I don't hate the Pirates! :-P

I know it's just a "little" early, but does anyone have any idea when the tickets would go on sale?

I have no idea...but I've been looking. I want to get them now while they're relatively 'cheap.' lol

I read in the Pittsburgh PG that Houston did not sell tickets to the general public. Tickets were sold only to season ticket holders...I doubt that Pittsburgh will sell to the public either. I hate to burst your bubble, but that's how it will probably play out... :(

Wow, that's gay! So what is all this talk about it bringing interest in baseball to Pittsburgh and helping the Pirates organizatin. How does it increase interest if the only people who can get tickets are the one who already hold season tickets. Doesn't make much sense to me!?!

The All Star is ok, nothing to get excited about in my opinion. By the way, us common folk will more than likely be able to pay tickets to the game. And in closing what the heck is skyblast night? It figures I finally plan on seeing a game this summer and the dam thing is standing room only...............

Unlike the Pirates, Huston probably has alot of season ticket holders. so what to do with all the other tickets, i know people would line up to get tickets for the game and the H.R. Derby, i find this whole situation nice being that i will be in school in Pittsburgh and i would gladly skip a day of class to go and try to get tickets in the situation that they release them to the general public

Makes sense to me...wait and see how many more people purchase season tickets.

I don't know how many of you remember 94, but it was a great game with a 9th inning win at 3 rivers by the NL. I wanted to go SOOOOOOOOO bad, but tickets were TOUGH to come by. What tickets were pretty easy to get? All Star Workout Day with the HR Derby, a celebrity softball game, BP, etc. It was a great time and I still saw all the stars. You even have a decent shot at snagging a ball or getting autographs. The game tickets will be on Ebay...you just have to be willing to pay. It just depends if $200 per ticket is something you want to spend. If not...go to workout day and watch the game on television.

When the game was in Pitt in 94 I went to a thing called Fan Fest a few days before the game. It was a long time ago but I'm pretty sure it was the convention center in downtown Pittsburgh. This thing was so cool... none of the auctual players were there but there were lots of former stars around. I got a Lynn Swan autograph along with a picture with Manny Sanguillen(sp?). If they have this again I highly recomend purchasing tickets... it was well worth it.
