Well, I'm not all into the European soccer anyway, so that wouldn't mean too much to me. But...getting to actually carry on a conversation with Abby Wambach?! Now THAT is something I can appreciate!

Was this before or after Ferdinand got suspended for a year and cost his team a shot at the Premier League and Champions League? Not to mention hurting England in Euro 2004. I assume it was before.

you assume incorrectly, it was during his ban...on Man U's pre-season tour of the USA, it was in Philadelphia, Rio came with the team to continue training and do a bit of publicity as well. and whilst the United decline did coincide with the banning of Ferdinand, one cannot put the blame on the missing Rio. United are true champions and can win with any one person missing from the squad, there were several other key factors that led to the fall of the Red Devils last season, as well as England in the Euros...Beckham was awful, Rooney broke his foot...to put the blame squarely on Rio's shoulders is absurd.
