who cares about the westpac honestly...it doesnt even compare to the LHAC. The lhac is the best conference from pittsburgh to harrisburg, hands down.

last year i guarantee u north star would have beat westmont. if westmont is so good then y did they barely get pasted a weak north catholic that north star only wished they could have played instead of a freeport which featured an outstanding shooting guard in dave bauman(now playing a D1 albany), along with D2 20+ scorer swingman brent ferko, and a few other good defense players. in all honesty i don't think ne team in the lhac could beat north star with drew shubik on the floor with exception to johnstown on a good night.

THE WEST PAC BASKETBALL CONFERENCE HADN'T HAD A TEAM THAT COULD BEAT THE TOP LAUREL HIGHLANDS TEAM SINCE JESUS CHRIST WAS BORN. JOHNSTOWN WOULD HAD DESTROYED NORTH STAR. WHO ELSE WENT TO COLLEGE TO PLAY BBALL ON NORTH STAR BESIDES SHUBIK. TULLIS AND TREY WHERE THE BEST IN D6 AND D5

drew shubik was the best player by far in d5 or d6.....he is at D1 Scared Heart and he did start the season opener tonight against albany as shooting guard.

hmm I recall a weak Windber team beating Bishop McCort Last year....who is a TOP LHAC TEAM, and there will be a Test on OPENING WEAKEND WHERE THE "NERI's of FERNDALE" take on Westmont in the Hilltopper Classic, and if Cards are laid right and C.Valley Happens to beat United And the Hilltoppers make it past ferndale the Westpac will have another Chance to Prove that the Smaller Westpac Schools can Compete with the bigger LHAC teams...

I think the WestPAC produces a couple quality teams every year, along with quality players. The Westpac offered a good Conemaugh Valley team when Brandon Studer played, not mention a good team year in year out. The Coneamugh Twp Indians and Windber Ramblers have been tough latley due to players like Andy Byer(CT), and David Kitcho(W). Last year we witnessed a very good North Star team with the best player in the area, Drew Shubik, the Sacred Heart commit. He is know playing alot at shooting guard at the D-1 level. The LHAC always has top players every year, last year with Tullis and Sharpe(Johnstown), and others. This year the Johnstown Trojans have yet again some top players like Xavier Thomas and Kurt Hoffman. Many teams offer good players, different cofferences, different teams. This year the WestPAC should have a couple teams to watch.

1. Windber Ramblers
I think the Ramblers are right on top. They were a VERY young team last year. Not lossing any starters is a plus. They beat McCort i believe with this young team. Dave Kitcho and company can be a very exciting team.

2. CT
Strong last year...well haven't they always been???...Byer is one of the areas top players, and should have yet again another good season.

3. Portage
The talk and hype about the 6'7' Randy Spaid is eyeing this team up. Athough not a team to be expected to win alot, just might, if Spaid can live up to the talk he recieves. There is another player, that is one of the best around. Probably my vote for the top player in the LHAC / WestPAC.

4. Conemaugh Valley
ALWAYS, I MEAN ALWAYS a team that can bring it day in day out. Return Josh Lupek..there we go again..another player to watch...

The Westpac brings alot of good teams, but alot of bad teams. Alot of us look at the WestPac and think of Shade, Ferndale, BV and them. When you look up top, you see what the WestPac has to offer.

1. Windber (d5)
2. Shanksville (d5)
3. Conemaugh Township (d5)
4. Portage (d6)
5. Conemaugh Valley (d6)

Thats my top 5 for this year.

In reply to the whole d5 cant beat a d6 team..I few years back, 3 i believe. What team made it to the sweet 16? or was the elite 8? Could that have been CT. I believe it was. What happened to the D6 schools then, where were they at...thats an honest question, I would like to know if they compared to us then. I was a sophomore that year, i think.
