Tom DeLay is saved!

Post by once a runner »

So what is the first order of business for the republicans after their big wins on Nov. 2nd?? They lower the ethical standards for government leaders.

Under current rules, DeLay could lose his leadership position if indicted. But now, even if he's indicted, he can retain his position. Of course it was a voice vote so nobody was accountable for their vote.

Amen, Runner! And we all know why the Republicans raised those standards in the first place not too many years ago.

Easy now. I believe it was the Democrats that never even implemented such a rule for their own.

Admitted -- some leading Democrats had done some bad things and it was a good way to get rid of them. I just thought that after an election that was decided by voter endorsement of moral values -- over even the war, terrorism, and the economy -- you guys would take the moral high ground.

PS: and why wouldn't the Republicans save DeLay's **** (maximus posteriorimus)? He singlehandedly gave them a significant number of new House seats. He's a freaking hero!

An indictment is not proof of guilt. If he's guilty of what the Democrats and media are claiming, then we'll talk.

Good post Lemmy. The prosectuer from Austin that is involved in the Delay case is a liberal headhunter that is as biased as Michael Moore. The Texas Dems are still steaming about the redistricting effort led by Delay. Partisan politics and nothing else.

Tom DeLay doesn't have to be indicted for me me to mistrust him. He's been down this road before. The Republicans certainly were fearful enough to push the rule change through.
