greatest quarterback of all time
greatest quarterback of all time
Alright, i know this one should probably go into the football forumbut since its about the NFL ill throw it in here. The whole Paton Manning thing has my brain grinding away. How would you measure greatness or the greatest QB of all time. Marino definately has the stats but no ring but you cant hold an entire season on the shoulders of one man. Bradshaw has the rings but you dont think of any records when his name comes up. ELway was good but it took him lik 15 seasons to get it done. Better late than never though, and montana unitas and nemeth were all before my time.
so your choices are
Unitas
Nemeth
Bradshaw
Montana
Elway
Marino
and we'll throw Farve in there so we do make those cheese heads cry
( if you got another one in mind throw him in)

My heart picks Bradshaw, but there's no question that Marino is the best of all time.

no one compares to marino when it comes to numbers...

I'd have to go with Unitas as the best. Marino had the best numbers, but also had the most attempts and no championships. Unitas had great numbers for his era and won 3 championships and 3 MVP's. And for what it's worth, I though Namath is one of the most over rated athletes of all time.

If that's your criteria, then Bradshaw would be ranked higher. He has 4.
I'm still sticking to Marino, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned Montana.

Re: greatest quarterback of all time
Marino was in a sling it around offense with no running. They didn't do that well in his years and his stats were gaudier than normal due to a lack of any sort of running game. He was GREAT, but I don't have him at 1 because of this. I think Montana was the best ever. I also would throw Elway up there right beside Joe. They both did tons and were vital to the success of their teams. Amazing talent from those two guys.
