*** RESPECT IS EARNED NOT GIVEN ***

The book says play for the tie, and if you lose in OT it's bad luck.
But play for the victory in regulation and lose? You're a bad coach

How do you domolition someone, just wondering? Nope, Duke is still in there TAE, look out, they lost one game in a 30 plus game season. They weren't going to finish the season undefeated and I expected a loss somewhere along the line, but definately not last night. The worst part about it is that I have to go and help my uncle move near college park tomorrow. Talk about going right down into the mouth of the monster that just beat MY FAVORITE NCAA BASKETBALL TEAM. The ACC is the best conference in College Basketball, anybody can lose there on any night, WAKE FSU ring any bells.

I love PSU football, I guess they were undefeated and had only one loss all season for the past thousand years eh Lion-Line05. Let me guess, I never liked Bedford but since they were good this year I started being the biggest fan of them then eh?

I'm glad everybody cares about the teams that I follow and feel like jumping down my throat when they lose. I'm glad I'm the highlight of your day when you can come on here and bash me about something that I already knew had happened. Thanks guys.

Duke getting demolished(I think that was the word you were looking for the Lion-Line) by UNC is very possible. Thier bench is not deep, no where near deep, and they are too white on the bench as well. UNC has scoring threats from all over and 8-9 people deep. Duke was severely over rated at #2, and that showed last night. When the shooting game is off, they will struggle and that will be thier demise this year either in the ACC tourney or the big dance. They shot 33% from the field last night, you can play PSU and not win shooting 33% from the field. Maryland came in ready to play last night and handed it to the Dukies in the 2nd half, they played a great game and Canner-Medley was unstoppable at times during that game.

What's worse than a good Duke team? A good Duke team angry after losing at home to an ACC rival. Look out Virgina Tech and WAKE 3 days after that.

BTW, I'll take Duke by 5 on the 9th at home...

I can attest to Ham liking Duke. He's liked them for as long as i can remember. We've had some good UNC-Duke arguments in our day.

And don't even try to shoot me down on being a UNC fan. I went to a game when i was 8 vs Old Dominion and have liked them ever since. I took it hard when we lost to PSU and Weber St. in the big dance in the last few years. I feel i've taken my share of verbal beatings when UNC has lost to horrible teams...aka week 1 with Santa Clara.

Anyway, for the first time in my life and BELIEVE ME i'm hesitant to admit this...but, I agree with you Lion-lion. I too believe that UNC will "demolition" or at least defeat the Blue Devils in the upcoming matchup.

I wonder what Christian Laettner, Bobby Hurley, Mike Gminski, Jim Spanarkel, Mark Alarie, Danny Ferry, etc. would think about that remark.?

That was a different day in Duke basketball. They have absolutely nobody on thier bench that can come off and become an instant presence on the floor and cause disruptions to the opposing team. Duke is good, which leaves me puzzled as to why they can't get 8 guys that could be starters but have to play bench rolls like UNC can.

Thanks Bison1, it warms my heart to have you stick up for me, lol.

after a second reading of ham's first post, i found this beauty of a statement.
The ACC is the best conference in College Basketball, anybody can lose there on any night, WAKE FSU ring any bells.
i disputed that comment last year. i will dispute it again this year.

1. as of right now, the big east is 5-1 vs. the acc.

2. the ACC, at most, will have about 5 teams into the tournament: duke, unc, wake, ga tech, and possibly maryland or miami (who was in the big east last year :cough cough:). the big east looks like it will get at least 6 teams in w/ 7 in the running: uconn, pitt, BC, SU, ND, georgetown, and villanova. i could make a fighting chance argument for more teams in each conference, but we are talking realistically here.

3. joe lunardi, famed bracketologist, has 7 big east teams and 5 acc teams in the tourny as of now. georgetown, the big east's 7th team, is acutually higher than maryland, the acc's 5th team.

3. i know pro ACCers will make the argument that the ACC has better strength at the top. i am not so sure. lets match up the top 4 teams from each conference:

BC vs unc
syracuse vs dook
pitt vs wake forest
uconn vs ga tech

i feel comfortable sayin that the big east would win 2 of these games played on a neutral court.

4. looking ahead to the final big east vs acc match ups of the year, we have:

uconn vs unc
dook vs st johns
virginia vs providence

the big east will be the underdog in each of these games.

5. ham says that there are no off nights in the acc. i argue the same thing about the big east. i could realistically see any one of the top teams in the big east losing to one of the bottom teams on the road.

6. my final arugment relies on "the U". miami had been a bottom teir team in the big east for many years. they had always been tough compeition but could not get over the hump. when they moved to the ACC, everybody thought they would simply be out-classed. as of today, miami is 4-3 in the ACC. thats not quite being out-classed.

to conclude, i feel the big east is right on par w/ the acc.

ooops sorry about the whole qoute, snafu. anyways ham too white on the bench, what does that mean? is there no room for fundamental basketball anymore. this whole notion that blacks play basketball better is a shattering myth, blacks and the cornerback position in the nfl as well. i honestly think it is fundamentally racist to say that a certain race is physically more capable of playing a certain position than another. quarterback as well if blacks can breal through a steroetype than why can't whites?
