If Harris gets to play for Maine...he'll play AT NEBRASKA!!!
If Harris gets to play for Maine...he'll play AT NEBRASKA!!!
Maine has Nebraska on the schedule to open the season on September 3rd. The Maine website lists Troy as a DB *(Troy Harris 5-11 190 DB Bedford HS Bedford, Pa. - First team All-Conference, Second team All-State, Bedford County MVP)*
Maine beat a D1-A team last year as they beat Mississippi State. This year though Nebraska is looking to be on the verge of a big rebound. Still....the exposure for Maine is nice.

There was a great article in the Bedford paper today about Troy signing with Maine. Congrats and good luck. You deserve the best you have been a great role model on and off the field for our local youth.

No doubt that the Atlantic-10 is the toughest conference in I-AA football. Wonder if people are making fun of Nebraska for scheduling a I-aa team for next year? You know, like they do here. And this was done on purpose, since there were NO changes in the Big Twelve conference like in the Big East......Has anybody ever been to Orono, Maine?

Not to be smart, but how much defense did Troy play at bedford? Also, all he has to do to get to Nebraska is make the traveling team. Where does Maine play James Madison this year? If it's at JMU, everyone should get down there. Only 3 hours from Bedford. GREAT place for football, it'll be even better now that JMU won the national Championship last year.

Just got off the Maine athletic site. Troy is listed as one of 5 DB recruits for this year.

There is no doubt that the main focus of Troy's high school career was on offense. But he is a great athlete and should make the transition to defense pretty easily.

Moldo: excellent points.
Rest of you guys: Relax. It's not set in stone the kid is gonna play DB. He could very easily end up on offense. The point is, Troy Harris knows his talent and made his decision based on his goals. Good luck, great player, hope he plays in the NFL.

LARGE MAN good call saying that Troy, a 5-11 180 pounder, could not play defensive end at the college level. He was just replying to another post by saying what position he played on defense.
