Central Lady Dragon Basketball 2003-2004

Post by CHSfan »

Central Lady Dragons are going to do some damage this year. With everyone returning back from last season, you can count on the Dragons contending with every team they play. The five seniors are: Krystal Ferry, Nicki Neil, Kerrie and Kellie Hinish, and Alicia Feathers. Look for Central to use its quickness to their advantage since they lack in the height department. Krystal Ferry will lead the team with her three's, while Alicia Feathers will keep up her relentless offense. Kerrie and Nicki will be working the paint inside and Kellie will be picking up easy baskets as the defensive player. Not only are the girls loaded with seniors, but they have a good bench. I suspect Rebecca Crooks, returning letter winner and junior, to have a break out year and help the Dragons on their way to districts. Heidi Hinton and Shannon Laratonda, returning letter winners and sophomores, will also make contributions with their offense. This years play-offs are going to be exciting. District 6 look out...The Lady Dragons aren't taking any prisoners this year.

Agreed 100%. Nice analysis too. I think the Dragons have a good shot at winning the LHAC, but there are teams like Bishop Carroll that they will have to contend with. I also think they have a GREAT shot at winning districts this year. The twins and Bird(Feathers) are VERY scrappy players, so they can turn their defense into offense. They also have a lot of players that can put the ball in the hoop. Ferry is one of the best in the area, and Coach Neal's daugther plays a good game under the basket. I too think they will have great depth, which a lot of girls teams around here don't have. Crooks, Laratonda, Hinton, and Bloomquist would be starters on most of the schools in our area. This Central team should have high expectations in my opinion. I hope to see Ferry's growth as an all around player too. She can flat out shoot, but if she uses her teammates to her advantage she could be EVEN BETTER. Teams won't be able to key on her like they do now...

Central's Home games will be very tough for the visiting team, the fans have confidence in their girls this year and it will be VERY LOUD every game. Good luck girls 8)

I can attest to that, I went up to a girls game at central one time and they had the most rowdy girl's bball fans i've ever seen. They were very loud...i can remember one girl they almost made cry. whiteshoes, and oneandonly were with me...maybe they'll have a comment on this.
