Can the Steelers make the Playoffs...

Post by Coach »

I think they have a good shot at it because of their remaining schedule and the fact that they play in a weak division. This is what their schedule looks like the rest of the way.

vs. Arizona
@ San Fran (MNF)
@ Cleve
vs. Cincy
vs. Oakland
@ NYJ
vs. San Diego
@ Baltimore

The Ravens are the only team remaining with a winning record. Win 7 of the 8 games to finish 9-7 and they are in. The games they can not lose are the games within the division.

The Ravens have a tougher schedule with St Louis, Seattle, and Miami in the next 3. They need to lose 2 of those 3 games. Then they have SF, Cincy, Oakland, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh. Lose 2 of those 3 and they have 7 losses as well. So the game vs. Pittsburgh to end the season could determine the last playoff spot in the AFC

It all begins with a win today vs Arizona.....WE NEED THIS GAME!

I have always been and always will be a steelers fan. No way do they make playoffs. To deep of a hole right now to get in. Could be SHould be at least 4-4 right now but they are not.

Their opponents records so far have been great, and now they finally get into the soft part of the schedule. A few wins in a row...and they are right back in this bad boy. There is a good shot that 8-8 with more divisional wins could win this division. A loss today...the season is OVER!

Depends on how bad the rest of the division continues to be. I think the Steelers are the best team in their division, and if they take care of business they have a legitimate shot. The rest of the division will continue to loss basically because they aren't very good.

Here's the standings!

AFC North

StandingsW L T PCT Home Road AFC NFC DIV Streak
Baltimore 5 4 0 .556 3-1 2-3 4-3 1-1 1-2 Lost 1
Cincinnati 4 5 0 .444 3-2 1-3 3-4 1-1 2-1 Won 1
Cleveland 3 6 0 .333 1-3 2-3 2-6 1-0 1-2 Lost 3
Pittsburgh 3 6 0 .333 2-3 1-3 2-4 1-2 2-1 Won 1

There's no strong team proving themselves in the AFC North right now. So I think it's likely that Pittsburgh can come away with a division title and a playoff birth!

I think with the weak division, and the fact that they are coming into a softer part of the schedule, a .500 record hopefully could get the Steelers into the playoffs. Like coach said, the last game of the year could be huge if everything works out for Pittsburgh.

One step closer as the QB from Baltimore, Kyle Boller has gone down for a while. GO STEELERS!
