ACADEMIC REASONS to Come to PSU
Dear Recruits,
Come one, come all! My handwritten letter campaign for the 2006-2007 recruiting class is underway and I have yet another reason (BESIDES OUR HIGH ATTENDANCE) for outstanding and upstanding gentlemen to attend our fine university:
We have two new majors for the coming year:
Archery Technology Management
Telephone Etiquette Sciences
The addition of these two programs will surely attract more and more quality student athletes to our program...BUT, I'll bet those other departments like: Division of General Studies, Turf Management, and Hospitality/Hotel/Restaurant Sciences are shaking in their shoes now that these two new programs have come along specifically to serve our ball players!!!
Don't believe everything you read in the papers about those 3 model, upstanding young men who were allegedly "crank calling" someone and threatening them hundereds of times over a 3 month period! Innocent until proven guilty!!! I think it was a big misunderstanding, trust me. It's all a bunch of hogwash. It was actually that Palko kid from Pitt who was involved, he'd have been a linebacker here anyway. That, plus Pitt never gets any fans at their games and their facilities stink.
Anyway, I want to be loyal to the hand that feeds me, so I am glad to see that The Master has taken the high road and has decided to send a message by suspending those 3 indefinitely. Now, I don't want to send the wrong message in my last paragraph...I stand fully behind My Master. The Master's firm and swift discipline shows that our football program has ethics and class and high standards. I am so glad that The Master has taken the high road on all of these discipline cases over the past few years, like sexual assault, murder, discharging a weapon in a dormitory. Anwar and EZ and Rashard and the boys were shaking in their shoes, that's for sure. Maybe Mr. Connor and his two cronies will learn a lesson from their dastardly deeds, just like EZ did. His handling of these situations sends a clear message that discipline comes first in the PSU program.
I'm sure that The Master will impose a harsh penalty, even if all 3 are innocent...Maybe even as harsh as making them run an extra lap around the field after practice every day for a week!
Yours in Blue and White,
Tom Isendhandwrittenlettesronly Bradley
PS-Has anyone seen EZ on campus yet? I forgot to send him a handwritten letter last week asking him how his afternoon workouts were going after his work release volunteering in the morning.

Titan, why dont you talk about how pitts season is going to be instead of mocking Penn State, your just being immature, you cant get over Penn State because its just a better, more prestigious school all together. want to go look at athlete graduation rates again.

Re: ACADEMIC REASONS to Come to PSU
Here Titan, take a gander at these, the first link is Pitt, and 15 other similar schools
http://collegeresults.org/search1b.aspx ... nID=215293
and here is the same for Penn State
http://collegeresults.org/search1b.aspx ... nID=214777
PSU has a grad rate of 82.5%
Pitt has a grad rate of 64.7%
this is everybody, not just athletes.

Re: ACADEMIC REASONS to Come to PSU
Guess PSU would be favored by about 20 over Pitt in a College Quiz Bowl then and would probably pack the auditorium for it necessitating a 2 for 1 series agreement all of which means they obviously must have a better football team too.

Re: ACADEMIC REASONS to Come to PSU
Do higher graduation rates make you a better school? PSU is higher than Carnegie Mellon and RPI (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute). Does that make them a better school?
