Real quick while I am on my way out.

Pitt loses yet again, again to a bad team. Yes, the score was close, I know. Virginia Tech beat Ohio by 45 points. Northwestern also blew out Ohio. Now, where is all the Big Ten bashing? Indiana just beat the hell out of a team who was less than a foot away from beating the Big East flagship Louisville. Indiana is also 3-0. Illinois almost beat California, in a game I said was a huge potential upset. Illinois and Indiana do NOT have good players. They are playing inspired football because Ron Zook can motivate players but is not necessarily an A+ in football savviness. Terry Hoeppner made Miami Ohio into a conference contender on an annual basis and now has his Hoosiers believing in themselves. This is the exact same think Solich is doing in Athens, Ohio.

The point is, good coaches do these things. Once again, Pitt looks like a chicken with their head cut off. They play uninspired, unmotivated football and lack all self-esteem on the football field. Wannstedt even has Palko's swagger turned way down. You Pitt peeps think I'm hating on your boys, but I am honest when I say I feel bad for you. I can't even imagine how bad it sucks to get a new head coach and have such high hopes and then watch this bozo flush your team down the toilet. I'd like to say it'll turn around, but we all know Pitt may be going 2-10 this season.

You have to get rid of Dave Wannstedt. I'm telling you, there are no signs of life on this football team.

And you need to get rid of Cavanaugh, too.

Penn State, on the same token, is definitely better than previous seasons, but probably will not win another game this year. Maybe Illinois, maybe Northwestern, but NW has a knack for beating our Nits. Love hurts, man. At least we're all in the same boat.

If you look at the Big Ten right now, and Pitt's performances, Pitt could not beat 1 single team in that conference. Starting conference competition next week, Pitt would go 0-12. Penn State will probably end up 4-8 or 5-7.

I'd also like to point out that Youngstown State is beating the living hell out of Liberty right now. Do not overlook that team, or you'll be sitting on 0-4. In all seriousness, with Pitt being 0-3, what would your record be right now with Walt Harris?

im not saying that penn state is great or anything right now. yet, i think you severly underestimated michael robinson and are now underestimating the team as a whole. they will win at least 7 games this year. any more than that will depend on the turnover ratio.

TAE- I guarantee you that PSU finishes better than you think they will. You should probably see this team play live. Their defense is still very good, and the speed at WR is beginning to make things happen. Look at Robinson's yards per completion over the last two games. He also looks real good back there.

The play that really works is the shotgun fake dive play that they pass out of. The DBs feel they have to come up and help. Then there are guys running down the field wide open. If they don't come up to help, Hunt or Robinson will hurt them with their feet. This team should win AT LEAST 4 more games. I am not going to sit here and argue it either way, but the team will get to go out and show what it can do. The speed and backup speed at WR is unreal.

I think Penn State will do good this year. Not sure how many games they will win, but I think they have a good shot at getting back to a bowl game this year maybe at like a 6-5 team. To me the defense for this team looks really good not to win at least 3 more games this year.

Coach, you are probably right. I'm probably just being cautious. I have been noting Robinson's stats and whatnot, and I am impressed. However, look at who they beat.

Next week, we have Northwestern, a team who is pretty solid. They also have a tendency to beat Penn State. Illinois we can probably win, but there's no guarantees. Like I said, regardless of how much PSU DID get better, the Big Ten is stiff as hell this year within itself.

And I have seen Morelli as well. He seems to be on his way to taking over next year.

The line up front is finally starting to come together. And man is Robinson throwing a good ball right now. PSU should win at least 7 games this year, at the very least. The D will get straightened out, as they did last year in conference play.

If Walt Harris was the coach of this year's Pittsburgh team, I'd say there record would be 2-1. They would've definitely lost to Notre Dame. However, they don't have Walt any longer and instead have Wannstedt. He's turned a good team into a terrible team at this point. He finally gave LaRod the ball and look what happened. Why didn't he do that against Ohio??? I would really like to know the answer to that question.
