CENTRAL- competing LHAC
CENTRAL- competing LHAC
Seeing if I can get some responses from folks at central or opinions if the move to the LHAC was right move for Central?? I am just talking football. Will they soon be able to compete with teams in LHAC or was it a mistake going to LHAC? What does anyone think.
I think this was the fourth year for them in LHAC three or four. They seem to of gotten better this year made some strides. BUT should they of made they move?? Will they be able to compete in LH in football?? Ridge had one good solid year in LHAC and they went 6-3 and lost to United in first round of playoffs. I think if they could do over again they wouldnt of went to LH in foootball. wiLL Central be able to compete year and year out?? Will be tough for them to do that.
Yes i do think moving to the Lhac was a mistake it was not our decision but what can you do besides deal with it, I think we will be able to compete in football as we did this year with a record of 4-6 takin big steps in the right direction. Our team and school spirit has been improving each year so i think Central will be a contendor as it has been before, but you have to look at the bigger picture knowing there are more sports than football that we do compete in. We were in the Big 8 before LHAC
"Some time, Rock, when the team is up against it, when things are wrong and the breaks are beating the boys - tell them to go in there with all they've got and win just one for the Gipper. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock. But I'll know about it, and I'll be happy."

Central was in the Big 8 in football and played in the Mountain League in other sports. The move to the LHAC looked good on the surface a few years ago but with Central's declining enrollment and that league's uncertain future coupled with the Mountain League expansion that has solidified that league makes the Central move look a lot shakier than it did originally. They will have problems competing because of the disparity in enrollments in my opinion although they will compete well year in year out in Baseball and off/on in Basketball and Girls Volleyball.

I think it was a good move for us to move into the lhac. we dominated the big 8 conference in the 90's and it was time for us to get some better competition. anybody that moves into a new conference is going to have a few rebuilding years. and i think our rebuilding years are over...look for us to compete for the lhac title in upcoming football.
