Rivals.com PSU Update
In the hunt for:
1. LeSean McCoy: 5* RB (7 overall)
2. Sam Young: 5* OT (9 overall)
3. Demarco Murray: 5* RB (19 overall)
4. Vidal Hazelton: 5* WR (22 overall)
5. Jared Odrick: 4* DT (31 overall)
6. JB Walton: 4* OL (36 overall)
7. Jeremiha Hunter: 4* LB (67 overall)
8. Maurice Evans: 4* DE (88 overall)
Verbal commit from:
1. Chris Bell: 4* WR (87 overall)
The only guy on that list that seems like they have no chance for is Hazelton, who has PSU listed as "low" in interest. Everyone else has PSU tied in interest level with the rest of their schools.

Re: Rivals.com PSU Update
So they're only in the hunt for four 5* kids and four 4* kids. And one of them has low interest? The way you were talking earlier, I thought they had a chance for quite a few more.

Re: Rivals.com PSU Update
There's only 28 kids who are 5* recruits.
Al those kids I listed are from the top 100 only.

Re: Rivals.com PSU Update
And one has LOW interest. So we're talking about 3 kids who are 5 STAR. And PSU's recruiting success is hinging on this?

Re: Rivals.com PSU Update
There are 9 kids out of the top 100 recruits all across the nation who have enough interest in Penn State to include them on a short list of schools. We're talking about the top 100 players overall. 1 verballed, 1 has them listed as "low", behind Florida and FSU and whatnot, who he has listed as "medium".
Once again, top 100 only. 4 5* recruits out of 28 are interested in the Lions.

Re: Rivals.com PSU Update
So to do the math... 1/7 of the 5* recruits in the nation have PSU listed as a team they might go to.
I like the * system too, but A. Scott had more than Hunt and the reality of it all showed that Hunt is the better player.
Moldo must not have read the articles about how Penn State's class could end up being one of the best in the nation once again. I saw one on cbs sportsline about two weeks ago. It is all in the spirit of trying to create an argument.

You're tight, I did not read that. Especially the part about "could" have the best class. You guys are counting your chickens before they hatch. You're counting guys who have PSU on a list.

Re: Rivals.com PSU Update
What chickens have been counted, Moldo? I posted about kids who had interest in Penn State. I didn't say they signed letters of intent. The thread was about interest amongst the top 100. But that concept is extremely alien to you, so I don't figure you'd be able to wrap your head around it.
Re: Rivals.com PSU Update
coach just said that this years PSU class COULD be the best in the nation. I'm just putting things in perspective, that's all. Those kids are still window shopping. "May I help you? No thanks. I'm just looking".

Re: Rivals.com PSU Update
They could all go to Akron too. But they aren't interested in Akron. We're talking like 4-5 teams that these kids have listed, out of 119. Penn State being on their short lists is a very good sign, even if they don't get anyone else. Like I said, have to be at the plate before you can hit a home-run. Plus it's not like PSU has had past recruiting problems.
