Playoff Excitement
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but this time of the season really gets me excited. There's just nothing quite like watching a high school football playoff game. Every senior gets a little extra fire in his belly knowing that he could be suiting up for the last time, walking out of the locker room with the kids he's been playing with every fall since 7th grade and earlier for the last time, running through the cheerleaders' sign (or as is the case with those playing for my alma mater, running through the Stampede) for the final time, and playing in their final high school game-- their final game, period, for most of them.
The fans seems to act a little differently, too. Hands aren't in pockets anymore. Everyone feels the same sense of urgency. So in the midst of all the banter about certain local teams on this site, I think we should take a step back and appreciate this time of the year for what it really stands for. With that said, good luck to all the local teams, especially the seniors as they look to put off the imminent end to their high school careers.

Well 11th man, I guess they don't hold the same feelings at McCort. They just go through thier lives like the good little boys and girls like they are and never get excited for anything. They should think back on all the district titles they've won, all the LHAC titles they own, and, more importantly, the 26th consecutive winning season. Ahh yes!
Good post. Having not ever played football, you surely do know what's going on.

I must have missed what Coach Swaim said the first time. Can you fill me in username?

Gunner, No doubt Coach Swaim has done a good job thus far. But last year has alot to do with Troy Harris. Take Troy out of the mix and Bedford is not an undefeated team or winning the LHAC title.
Opininguy, I did hear there was a rift between coach Swaim and coach Bailey last year. But other than that I have ot heard anything. Is that what you are pertaining too?

Yeah Opionionguy lets hear what the negitive vibe coach Swaim is getting. And if not being satisfied with losing in the first round of the playoffs is having a chip on his shoulder well I say good for him cause any coach that would be satisfied with that isn't much of a coach.
Username6 all I have to say is if it takes the opposing coach to make comments in the paper to get your Crimson Recruiters fired up then they may be in trouble.
Lefteye come on now, I guess Bedford last year is the only highschool football team that you can say that about. Take Travis Rearick off of FH's team and are they 8-1 I doubt it, is BC 9 - 0 without Forcellini ,noway does Westmont go 6 - 3 without Kanuch we all know the answer to that one. So please come up with a stronger arguement than that.

How about this! I would be willing to say that if you take Troy off of last years team we go 6-3 in the regular season. I am just saying that he was that special of an athlete.
I think coach Swaim is a good coach. He has come in and done a great job!! I wasn't meaning to take anything away from him.

But you were trying to diminish what Bedford had accomplished last year by making a statement such as that. Every team has key players. EVERY SINGLE ONE. And if you take those key players away, they are obviously going to lose a few games that they should have won had the player been there. Why deal in hypotheticals for one team? Why not eliminate all the key players last year for each team then compare that way?
